Source: USA Today

A week ago, Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour had drawn the ire of the NAACP for insensitive comments about growing up during the 1960s civil rights era.

Today, the potential 2012 GOP presidential candidate is being hailed by the leader of the nation's oldest civil rights group as a "shining example" of a governor.

Why the change? Barbour on Wednesday decided to free two sisters who have been imprisoned on life sentences since 1994 on armed robbery charges. The plight of Jamie and Gladys Scott had long been championed by the NAACP. 2. Yup.. he has played them like a puppeteer...
I am damned glad they are finally being released as it should have come years ago. But, the ONLY reason he is doing so, is to avoid the state prison having to shoulder more medical costs for her, including that of the transplant. Give me a break.

3. The same Ben Jealous that was quick to condemn Shirley Sherrod
before the entire story came out.

Sorry, I'm not in a big hurry to let a gigantic racism apologist like Barbour off the hook so quickly.

11. Barbour is a racist pig.
Fortunately for this piece of garbage wrapped in skin, he lives in a place and time that legitimizes racism.
The NAACP has no business expressing anything other than outrage at this case.
A "shining example"? Yes, of a disgusting sub-human.
