WikiLeaks: Julian Assange has Rupert Murdoch 'insurance files'
Source: Guardian UK

Founder also confirms WikiLeaks has more than 500 US diplomatic cables on one broadcasting organisation

Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, today said he is in possession of "insurance" files on Rupert Murdoch and his global media company, News Corporation.

WikiLeaks also holds more than 500 confidential US diplomatic cables on one broadcasting organisation, according to Assange.

Speaking to the campaigning journalist John Pilger for an interview to be published tomorrow in the latest edition of the New Statesman, Assange said: "There are 504 US embassy cables on one broadcasting organisation and there are cables on Murdoch and News Corp."

Assange refers to these specific cables as "insurance files" that will be released "if something happens to me or to WikiLeaks".

He said yesterday that the whistleblowers' site would "shortly" continue publishing its cache of 250,000 secret US embassy cables. Although the contents of these so far unpublished cables remain unknown, Assange told the New Statesman that they "speak more of the same truth to power".

Got this from The Guardian today. Interesting comments on the right wing attack which the Guardian enabled. @zzbbddf

I would advise anyone following the Guardian's coverage of Wikileaks to read this article.

35. And what does that tell us about the history of Roger Ailes?
From the press release:

“WikiLeaks staff and contributors have also been the target of unprecedented violent rhetoric by US prominent media personalities, including Sarah Palin, who urged the US administration to ‘Hunt down the WikiLeaks chief like the Taliban’. Prominent US politician Mike Huckabee called for the execution of WikiLeaks spokesman Julian Assange on his Fox News program last November, and Fox News commentator Bob Beckel, referring to Assange, publicly called for people to ‘illegally shoot the son of a bitch.’ US radio personality Rush Limbaugh has called for pressure to ‘Give Ailes the order and there is no Assange, I’ll guarantee you, and there will be no fingerprints on it.’, while the Washington Times columnist Jeffery T. Kuhner titled his column ‘Assassinate Assange’ captioned with a picture Julian Assange overlayed with a gun site, blood spatters, and ‘WANTED DEAD or ALIVE’ with the alive crossed out.”

Help me out here. I don't get how they can be used as insurance files in case something happens to him or Wikileaks.

If he's hinting at having files on Faux and has files on Murdoch he should release them without delay.

the unsophisticated who watch it.

What I take him to be saying is that if Faux hastens Assange's demise or that of the organization, Murdoch will be cutting his own throat.

I'm sure our ISPs got all that information when we paid our bills. All websites can be hacked, just like bank and online shopping sites, etc. Years ago, even before I was online, I was a victim of identity theft. It's all out there somewhere.

Over the years, RW fanatics have released every personal detail of their political opponents lives online, no matter how insignificant or how small that person was in the fray.

That includes SS numbers, bank accounts, credit history; their home addresses, phone numbers, work addresses and numbers; the names, pictures and schools of their children and grandchildren; even google photographs of their homes.

It was done and will continue to be done, to terrorize and silence liberals, progressives, whistle blowers and law-abiding citizens, because it works and fanatics have no sense of boundaries.

A few examples:

http://www.thoughtcrimes.org/s9/index.php?/archives/2782-The-Invisible-Man.html

I don't think that's what Wikileaks is about. I'm not worried about them and hope you won't be. It's the RW fanatics and regular criminal types we need to be concerned with.

Peace!

He has absolutely no reason to release information on any timetable other than his own.

I'm prepared to trust his judgment on this. He's shown good judgment so far, certainly better judgment that the Obama White House, which has been chasing its tail on this for months, and acting like Dick Cheney is managing their ham-fisted response.

42. WikiLeaks has Rupert Murdoch 'insurance files'
Source: SMU

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange claims he has "insurance" files on media mogul Rupert Murdoch that will be released if "something happens" to him.

Mr Assange has enraged the United States with his website's release of leaked diplomatic cables, and the Australian's defence team believe efforts are under way to send him to the US where they claim he could face the death penalty.

In an interview Britain's New Statesman magazine, conducted by veteran journalist John Pilger who is a prominent supporter of the Australian hacker, Mr Assange said WikiLeaks had "504 US embassy cables on one broadcasting organisation" and "cables on Murdoch and News Corp", without going into more detail on what they contained.

Advertisement: Story continues below "If something happens to me or to WikiLeaks, 'insurance' files will be released," Mr Assange was cited as saying.
