Beirut - The Lebanese aviation authorities refused to give permission for a private Libyan jet carrying 10 passengers to land at Beirut's international airport.
According to airport officials the plane was due to take off from Tripoli's airport before midnight Monday, but Lebanese authorities asked Libya to reveal the identity of the 10 before allowing the jet to land in Rafik Hariri's International airport.
But the Libyans ignored the request, prompting the authorities at Beirut airport to ask the pilot to divert the plane to a nearby country, either Syria or Cyprus.
