Source: The TennesseanSeveral dozen people jammed a corridor at the state legislature Wednesday in an event organized to protest a bill that would strip the Tennessee Education Association of its collective bargaining powers.
Making references to rallies in Wisconsin and Ohio, members of several unions, including the AFL-CIO, the International Association of Fire Fighters, the Service Employees International Union and the TEA, gathered to show their opposition to the bill co-sponsored by state Sen. Jack Johnson, R-Franklin, and state Rep. Debra Maggart, R-Hendersonville.
