WikiLeaks cables show oil a major focus of US diplomats
Source: Miami Herald /McClatchy

With oil trading near $100 a barrel and gasoline near $4 a gallon at the pump, Americans can take solace in knowing that securing sources of oil has been a chief focus of U.S. embassies across the globe for years.

Of the 251,287 WikiLeaks documents McClatchy obtained, 23,927 of them - nearly one in 10 - reference oil.

2. Ouur wars are also a major source of artificial demand for oil.
Let's not pretend that this anything to do with securing cheap oil for American citizens. It's about securing profits for energy companies and defense contractors.

3. Our Overlords should be hailed
with great joy for their accomplishments, to date.

With every act of ignorance, acceptance, or apathy on our part as a majority, they win what they have set out to accomplish. We can complain and bitch and moan now, (while never attempting to act in our own, small way) but we really won't have that option in a future where we accede to what is presented, point-blank and before our eyes in ways that induce us to accept an obvious loss of everything we have valued as both practical and necessary, in exchange for a very convincing argument where we trade common sense for fads, distractions and divisive issues.

We can't win if we continue with supporting the Status Quo, especially when we know who they are and what their vision of reality and the future is. We can win when we see that we are dealing with an argument that is never winnable if we continue to engage in it as it has been presented. We are on the verge of creating a new world because the very basics of the old one are proving to be untenable for the long-term. We will endure and find our emergence viable if we can only discern carefully what we are actually dealing with. This will take a balance and an almost visceral approach to the complex issues and streams of information we are being presented with.

I trust you all to see the difference and negotiate between the needs and actuality of your organism and the inculcated concepts, and your response to them, of your mind and its abstract predicaments. It could be a simple and easily discernible question of balance in relation to what avails us and what we have at our disposal.

5. i am shocked
absolutely shocked that US diplomats are maneuvering to further US interests.

or perhaps it would be better to have Russia controlling almost 100% of the natural gas going into Europe?
or allowing Eni to bypass sanctions against Iran for its nuclear program?
