not because of anything else:

President Obama announced that White House counsel Bob Bauer would resign to take a job with the president's reelection campaign.

Kathryn Ruemmler, Bauer's deputy since last January, will become the third White House counsel during Obama's administration, effective at the end of this month.

Bauer will return to practice at the D.C. law firm Perkins Coie, where he'll resume his role as Obama's personal lawyer and serve as general counsel to Obama's reelection campaign, as well as general counsel to the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
