Children hurt in Sadr clash
FOUR Iraqis were killed and 12 others injured, including four children, in fresh fighting in Kufa between US troops and militiamen loyal to wanted Shiite cleric Moqtada Sadr, witnesses said today.

The clashes lasted about two hours, according to Uday Abdul Karim and Haidar Abu Zaid, garage owners on Kufa's main road.

"This is the first time that the Americans went this deep into Kufa," said Abdul Karim.

An AFP photographer saw three partially destroyed homes and extensive damage to the front of a kindergarten and a school near positions of Sadr's Mehdi Army at the Kufa grand mosque.

2. I knew there had to be a reason
Why I felt crappy when I heard that we had destroyed Sadr's office or whatever it was that was leveled.
This war makes me sick. :puke:

3. All the innocent children,...
,...caught in a nightmare they had no part in creating,...makes my heart cry and bleed. As if the suffering of children in my own country isn't bad enough,...

I only find comfort for those who have gone back "home" because they suffer no more on this human-created hell of existence.

4. They were innocent Children
They are dead now-- their families will mourn them, they will turn to dust, the young men who killed them, will have nightmares for years, the Generals who sent them, will revel in their exploits, the politicians who directed them, will die of old age on heated waterbeds

Those of us here tonight, who heard of them, should say a prayer for them, and ask God to care for them----saigon

How many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
An' how many times can a man turn his head,
An' pretend that he just doesn't see?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

An' how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
An' how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
An' how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind,
The answer is blowin' in the wind-----bob dylan 1962

7. Has God abandoned us?
My wife told me tonight that if God exists, he abandoned us.

Me, I wouldn't know which way to pray. The sacredness of all life is not hidden from me.

It's pretty fragile, though.
