Bush* to Detail Transition Monday in First of Several Iraq Speeches
President Bush will lay out details of the U.S. plan for the Iraq transition at a major speech Monday in a bid to counter mounting public anxiety over escalating violence and uncertainty less than six weeks before the handover of political power in Baghdad, according to U.S. officials.

Beginning with Monday's address at the Army War College, Bush will give a major speech on Iraq every week through June 30, when the U.S.-led coalition is due to turn over political power to a new interim Iraqi government. "We're entering a critical phase, and the president will be speaking out each week to discuss with the American people, and the world, the way forward in Iraq," said a White House official.

"Some speeches will have more details than others, and will be given at different places and times. All have the important goal of explaining the essential tasks at hand and the significance of June 30," the official added.

In another sign of the developing campaign to win wider support for U.S. strategy, Bush is also considering meeting in New York with the U.N. Security Council and senior representatives of countries in the U.S.-led coalition, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi told reporters after meeting with Bush.

Why do I get the feeling that if I watch these speeches, afterwards I'll be wishing I had spent the time rubbing witch hazel into my hemorrhoids instead?

3. Bush will discuss?
"We're entering a critical phase, and the president will be speaking out each week to discuss with the American people, and the world, the way forward in Iraq," said a White House official.

I am trying to remember ever hearing him "discuss" any thing with any one!

He only mouths the words and then walks off the stage shaking a few hands.

19. New American Bill of Rights
I propose a positive program embodied in five new amendments to the United States Constitution, a "New American Bill of Rights." I hope that people from all political perspectives might accept these new "Rights."

New American Bill of Rights

Health Care - Every person living in the United States has the right to basic health care. This means providing the treatment reasonably necessary to prevent and cure diseases and injuries to the body or mind, with respect and compassion. If a cure is not reasonably available, then care shall be provided to sustain the patient free of pain, in dignity and comfort. This care shall be provided at public expense if not otherwise available.

Opportunity - Every citizen in every region of the United States who obeys the law and works hard has the right to economic opportunity for them and their children. No law shall be enacted by the United States or the several states which give any person or corporation, foreign or domestic, any economic advantage at the expense of other citizens. Laws designed to redress historic social and economic disadvantages are encouraged and shall be reviewed periodically to insure that they are effective in carrying out their remedial objectives. Laws restricting or taxing specific activities which are designed to promote the health, safety and welfare of the people are permitted and shall be reviewed periodically to ensure that they continue to promote their stated goals.

Education - Every person living in the United States shall have the right to a basic education which trains them in independent life skills, the duties of a citizen and for basic employment. Every citizen of the United States has the right to be trained for employment to which their abilities and aptitudes are best suited and for which there is a demand in their region.

Unequal Influence in Government - Every citizen of the United States has the right to participate equally in the selection of elected officials and other public choices made by way of initiate, referendum and recall in the United Sates and the several states. No decision process shall be permitted which allows any greater participation to citizens who have substantially more resources than other citizens involved in that decision process. Only United States citizens and not corporations or other persons, shall participate in decision processes. All candidates for election and participants in other choices shall have equal access to all communications media.

Undeclared Conflicts - The people of the United States shall be free from undeclared military conflicts. The President and Congress of the United States shall not engage in any substantial hostile military activities unless War has been declared according to law. There shall be a grace period of thirty days after the commencement of defensive military activities during which the President may direct defensive military action. No funds of the United States shall be expended unless a state of war has been declared, and no member of the Armed Forces shall be punished for declining to participate in military activities without a declaration of war except during a defensive grace period.

Major last ditch effort to save his failed presidency might have been more accurate, but, to be fair.....

6. I just love his "educaten the publik" speeches. His Brown v.
Board of Education speech this week was one them.

Its like when a young child is earnestly trying to explain something to you that anyone over the age of 10 already knows. Its cute coming from a four or five year old. But not very impressive when coming from the frickin Prez of the US.

18. A "freedom" drinking game!!!
For anyone with the stomach to watch this while ingesting alcohol, here's a fun idea! Let's take a shot every time that moron uses the word FREEDOM or FREE in his little speech. I'd say we'd use "dangerous man" this time, but I think "FREEDOM" will be guaranteed for a major binge. We'll need it. :toast:

8. I think it'll go something like... this:
BUSH: "The transition... uh... to a free and stable Iraq, uhhhh is important to... uhmmm... a free and stable Middle East, because a secure Iraq is the foundation of uh... freeness, which stability brings with it... uh, in its arms. And we're makin' good progress, we're working with the Iraqi people... uhmmm... and when we transfer power to... the entity... which will have power uhmmmm transferred to it... on June 30th, uh... the transfer of power is uh... key to a free and stable Iraq, and the American people know that a free Iraq is a stable Iraq. And when Iraq is free, uhhh the Middle East is free. And security is important, it's important ummm because free people everywhere hunger, uh - yearn for the freedom uhhh that stability brings. And I believe we're makin' good progress. No questions, lunch is gettin' cold and I'm fixin' to eat. Eh eh eh."

17. Oddly enuff, I'm not sure turning it over is what America wants?
This is SOOO premature! We have trashed the country, thrown it into poverty and dispair, nearly started a civil war, and now we turn it over? Will it go as well as.. say... Afghanistan, which is apparently harvesting a record poppy crop, and seeing the return of the Taliban? We are not ready to turn it over, becuase it's a bullshit turnover. Our troops will STILL be there.. This is no more than a political ploy, just like every freakin' thing that man has done since he "took" office.

27. Um, bring...bring...out, er, the...stam...stammering...fool!
This is great! A speech a week from bu$h between now and the "Transition!" Now that the War To Make Dick Cheney Rich is being revealed for the Clusterfuck that it is, what could possibly stir up any more resentment toward the Regime?

Why, having The Chimp on TV, still unable to string two sentences together without mangling the English language, without looking like an even bigger tool, of course!

Oh, yeah. This is going to do wonders in terms of rallying Murkins behind our Great Wartime Preznit! He's already starting to sweat the way Nixxon did toward the end--I can't wait to watch his evil glands open up on CNN! I wanna see RIVERS of flop sweat!

BRING IT ON, GEORGIE. BE CONVINCING.
