CANTON — The union wants Timken Co. to accept federal mediation to negotiate the closing of the three bearings plants here, but the company says there is no need for outside help.

Timken spokesman Jason Saragian said Kerry is using the issue for political means. “This is a political issue, not a business issue,” Saragian said.

David McCall, director of Steelworkers District 1, issued a statement Friday welcoming Kerry’s proposal and called the company’s statement that the union had rejected negotiations “blatantly false.”

Timken “is not losing money at its Canton bearing plants. They just want to make more,” he said.

i thought to myself as i seen shrub up on the big stage at timken company talking about tax cuts, job growth, spur the economy,"what a fucking phony" there were tax cuts, but they didn't help the timken employees did they? you know while shrub was on that stage,making that bullshit, phony ass speach,the owners of timken were listening,waitng for him to finish, so they could run up to him and kiss his ass,they already knew this day would come. you just dont shut down a company overnight.folks, brace yourself,if this idiot is elected again its only going to get worse!
