Bush Suffers Cuts, Bruises While Biking
May 23, 2004

And gee Jenna couldn't make it to graduation, either. They must have had a brawl down at the ranch. Can't wait to see the pics.

CNN reporting this little "fall" off his "mountain bike" This is news? This makes him some sort of a tough guy, Texas rancher, athelete?

He is getting fat. He obviously is tryin hard to maintain that young, limber look of a twenty year old. So is the first frump. Both fail miserably.

If I were Kerry, I would make some nuanced comment about wobbly men who fall off bicycles.

Okay, so here's the situation. We have a doofus that can't balance on either a bike or a newfangled transport and who can't swallow a pretzel without choking. He's trying to imitage Kerry, and I'll bet he wasn't riding any 16 miles when this happened. They are covering his butt to explain the fall. It's probably the first time he's ever been on a "mountain bike."

87. His food taster is, or at least used to be, a mouse.
From an October, 2003 article:
"A humble mouse is to put its life on a plate for US president George Bush this weekend - acting as his official food taster to thwart any attempt at a bio-chemical assasination.

The rodent is one of 10 selected by the authorities in Thailand, where Mr Bush is starting a four-day visit today, and will be served samples of food which the president will eat.

According to Thai officials, the mouse will nibble on Thai dishes and then be observed to see if it drops dead or suffers any ill effects."

If you don't believe it...

What if Bush had to have skin legions from too much sun removed??
(I always thought that might be behind the pretzel story).

Did you notice the red spot on the tip of his nose recently? Let's see how it looks. If there's a wound on the tip of his nose, I'll be very suspicious.

43. WOW...I forgot Bush WAS TREATED FOR SKIN LEGIONS!
http://www.cancer.org/docroot/NWS/content/NWS_1_1x_President_Bush_Treated_For_Skin_Lesions.asp

President Bush Treated For Skin Lesions
Caused by Exposure to Sunlight

Article date: 2001/12/21
President George W. Bush recently had four skin lesions removed from his face, two of which could have turned into non-melanoma skin cancer if left untreated, the White House announced this week.

Lesion is the term doctors use to describe an abnormal growth of tissue, and there are many kinds.

Lesions Caused by UV Light
The two lesions President Bush had removed that could have turned cancerous were actinic keratoses, small abnormal skin growths caused by too much exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light, usually sunlight.

The other two lesions — seborrheic keratoses — do not usually turn cancerous and are the result of excessive growth of cells in the outer layer of skin.

The two actinic keratoses were on the President's cheeks. One of the seborrheic keratoses was on his temple, and the other on his forehead.

Actinic keratoses usually appear as slightly raised, pink or red scaly-looking or rough patches on sun-exposed skin.

Left untreated, actinic keratoses can turn into squamous cell skin cancer, one type of non-melanoma skin cancer. But treatment prevents that, said a dermatologist familiar with skin cancers.

81. I don't believe it either. I think the "seizure theory" may have
some truth to it.
Someone on DU posted a story saying that Bush has seizures and is medicated much of the time. All of these "accidents" simply explain the injuries he suffers when he has a seizure.
I wasn't sure whether to believe the speculation, but this latest "accident" has me wondering what is really going on here.

24. What a hero
Amazing, 17 miles on a mountainbike, in the flatland, accompanied by his personal physician ...

" The ultra-fit Kerry takes part in lots of sports but has impressed many with his marathon bike rides in tough conditions.

Kerry isn't just a 12-mile RAGBRAI rider (fellow democratic contender Howard Dean pedalled just a short distance in the famous US ride, the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa) he's a long-distance specialist.

The 60-year old senator from Boston rides many charity events. In August, he finished the 110-mile Pan-Massachusetts Challenge as 37th of 3000 riders."

194. Oh now I get it
whatever he did to bang himself up like that, and I do not believe he did it by falling off a mountain bike after riding sixteen miles, the story, most likely a lie, was made up so that he could compete with Kerry. I did not know Kerry was a bike rider. I remember the story of this immature man, Bush, never liking to lose to anyone and if he was beat on the tennis court, he would make his opponent play and play until Bush won. That is how childish he is.

I would love to see a picture of him riding this mountain bike. I have never, in all three years of Bush watching via pictures, seen him riding a bike.

Pennsylvania. fell off many times--usually landed on my hand and wrist or elbow and leg got scraped but really never was seriously injured.

Husband today, is laid up because he fell off his bike a week ago and landed on his hip-eekk--could not walk and needed to get him a walker from the Red Cross and now he has a cane, but getting better-and we have decided that it is the end of our biking days. :-( We cannot afford to have broken bones now. Our bikes are for sale on the front lawn, hoping that some summer people buy them.

Bush is again covering up for something and I suspect he is drinking and falling down drunk. I also think he has been abandoned by those around him--Laura avoids him and Condi is distancing herself. He drinks. I also think he did a terrible thing by not attending his own daughter's graduation. He is hostile to these twins and they seem to be hostile to their parents--there is little affection shown in all of them. Jenna did not even show up to get the diploma.

Compare to real people

163. wrists, hands, knees mainly
I've sprained a wrist and gotten plenty of road rashes in spills. I've never hit my head, but I know bikers who did, and who were very happy they were wearing helmets. Bike accidents aren't all that uncommon. I've crashed for a number of reasons: rear tire blowout, unexpected gravel on the road, trying to avoid a car, trying to avoid a loose bull on the road, hitting a patch of ice (in California - I wasn't expecting it to be there). And I managed to have all my accidents without the aid of alcohol or any other mind altering substances.

But I still think this is amusing.

Why doesn't Kerry laugh about Bush mountain biking on his flat ranch. More big Bush lies? Or how about "That's Bush for you, always falling short of completing the last mile!" I can think of so many things for this one.."Bush, can't ride a bike, it doesn't use gas!"

103. link updated: Bush probably would be wearing a bandage on his chin
Edited on Sat May-22-04 07:06 PM by maddezmom
Duffy said Bush probably would be wearing a bandage on his chin during a party Saturday night for his daughter, Jenna, who graduated from the University of Texas earlier in the day. Bush left Crawford shortly after the bike mishap for the party in Austin.

Earlier this month, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) took a spill from his bicycle while riding with Secret Service agents through Concord, Mass., about 18 miles north of Boston. Kerry fell when his bike hit a patch of sand. He was not injured.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/05/22/bush.fall/index.html

Bush suffered minor abrasions to his chin, upper lip, nose, right hand and both knees, but was able to ride back home, Duffy said.

Tubb treated the president at the scene. Bush was wearing a helmet and a mouth guard when he fell, Duffy said.
