Pakistan militants 'on the run'

By Paul Anderson
BBC correspondent in Pakistan

Pakistan's military says it has cleared foreign Islamic militants from large parts of the troubled region of South Waziristan, near the Afghan border.

It said several hundred more militants - believed to be Chechens and Central Asians - are hiding in known locations.

They will be dealt with in the coming days and weeks, the army said.

<...>

They have knocked out several training camps and isolated sites where they know militants are holed up with their tribal supporters.

Pakistan is a military dictatorship, led by a man who overthrew a civilian, elected government. He knows he can win brownie points (and military aid) from the boo$h misadministration by claiming to be "smokin' out them furrin' terra-ists".

4. BTW has Paskistan not been clearing militants for oa while now?
Yet there seem to be some of militants left somewhere within her borders everytime you turn around.

5. Ever since the 50's Pakistan, a failed state, has been good at only
two things: sucking at Uncle Sam's tits for money and armaments, and supporting terrorists in India,Afghanistan and even the U.S. when it suits its purpose. And, for a really Big One, it is the country that has produced what is affectionately known as The Islamic Bomb.

A really reliable ally of the Bush Administration one might say.

6. On the Run?
From Afghanistan to Pakistan, and Back?

Pakistan is playing this terrorist card to get the maximum, booty out of Dumbya...and taking him for a ride.

Since 911, Pakistan has arrested thousands of so called "al Qaeda", only to release them after a few months, and have them arrested again the next time Christina Rocca, Powell or Armitage goes to visit Pakistan.
