Iran's reformist-controlled Intelligence Ministry has rejected charges that two of its agents were involved in the homicide of Montreal photojournalist Zahra Kazemi, who died of head injuries while in custody last month.
On Tuesday, Iran also said it has no obligation to tell Canada what it has learned about the death, a government spokesman said Tuesday despite a call from Ottawa for details on what happened and who was responsible.
Abdollah Ramezanzadeh, the Iranian government spokesman, was asked when would Iran pass the results of its investigation to Canada. His reply was that "Tehran has no duty to inform the Canadian government of any issue," the official Islamic Republic News Agency reported.
