Florida State Election System Under Scrutiny Again
http://news.tbo.com/news/MGA135RSUJD.html

<snip>
TALLAHASSEE - One of Florida's highest-ranking elections officials has been fired, a criminal investigation into records falsification is being launched and, once again, the integrity of the Sunshine State's electoral system finds itself under fierce scrutiny.
<snip>

<snip>
Authorities are trying to determine why Connie Evans, the state Elections Bureau's records chief, altered nearly 40 apparently late-filed campaign finance reports from Republican and Democratic candidates in the 2002 election cycle to make it appear they had been received on time.
<snip>

<snip>
But many, including Gov. Jeb Bush, remain convinced the package of election reforms introduced since 2000 has turned Florida's election process into a national model.

1. "National Model" sez Jeb?
"...Gov. Jeb Bush, remain convinced the package of election reforms introduced since 2000 has turned Florida's election process into a national model."

That's exactly what we're afraid of!!!:mad:

2. Jeb's "National Model"
Is, "Don't look. Everything is fine. Nothing to see here."

All the while Florida looks more and more like a Banana Republic.

3. A National Model.............
for some third world nation perhaps. The poltical structure and mechanizations in Florida are a joke, and all of it rests on the shoulders of our "glorious leader", Jeb. As a newcomer to Florida, I'm astonished at the goings on here. Maybe I see it a bit more clearly for that reasson, but I think people who've lived here for some time have become inured to the poltical chaos in this state. And for the record, I'm doing what I can to remedy these iniquities.

5. Reading "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy"
By Palast right now. The election process should be a national model for those Republicans that have decided they shall decide what the "people" shall get.

6. Can any of this be traced back to 2000?
Any chance of overturning Bush vs. Gore?
