30 Days, 2,368 Attacks
And Allawi and Bush are pretending that 14 or 15 of 18 provinces are "completely safe"????

See:http://www.nytimes.com/

Click on the Graphic under the front-page article entitled: "Iraq Study Sees Rebels' Attacks As Widespread": "Resistance to the occupation of Iraq is more widespread than the pockets of insurgency described by Iraqi officials, data shows."

You'll need to register to read the lead story, but you don't have to in order to see the graphic. The graphic is pretty dramatic.

1. Hope Kerry breaks that debate rule...
... and brings this graphic in to the debate.

4. So do I
He could use it as part of referring to Dubya as a "flip-flopper", you know, first everything's rosy, then he "miscalculated" the level of the insurgency/resistance, then everything's rosy again, and he even drags his little puppet, Allawi to Congress and the White House to help him spread his everything's rosy lie again. Then hold up the graphic and move on to Dubya's living in a "world of spin" and needs to get a grip on reality.

3. Thanks, Olive, for posting the graphic.
Of seven types of weapons, 34% (699) of the attacks in the past 30 days (over 23 per day) were with "homemade bombs". What does this tell us about the "insurgents"? Well, I don't think Al Queda (you know, the terra-ists) is using homemade bombs - they have the money to buy the more sophisticated weaponry. These are native Iraqis attacking us with their homemade bombs.

5. Correction
Make that 799 homemade bombs in 30 days, or almost 27 per day.

6. The Iraqi Resistance is getting more sophisticated
As any nationalist movement would do and adapt after being invaded by what the majority of the population regards as Thugs, Hoodlums, Criminals and Rapists, who set out to exploit their resources and people.

The resistance forces are like fish in the sea, they swim with impunity. With the co-operation of most of the locals nothing different is going to happen. If 80% of the population actively hates the occupier, the occupier will never win.

7. But yet its the presses fault....
Shades of watergate when Nixon and Agnew would blame the press in a knee jerk reaction..The same thing that Bush and Allawi are doing now..They whine how come they dont show the good things in Iraq? Well its really tough to show that when americans are falling and the Draft is looming! Over nothing but a pack of lies sold to the american people on the fallen of the most tragic day in American history.
I guess the press is not lapdog enough for the Bushes they want total obediance..And who says they are not Nazi's? Geesh!
