Florida early voting could top 2 million
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/elections/orl-asecearlyvote28102804oct28,0,7665591.story?coll=orl-home-headlines

More than 2 million Floridians will have cast their ballots before a single precinct opens at 7 a.m. Tuesday if the early and absentee voting blitz holds its current pace.

That is more than a third of all people who voted in the 2000 presidential election and almost 20 percent of the state's 11.4 million registered voters.

"I've never seen anything like it in the 15 years that I've been here," said Sharon L. Harrington, Lee County supervisor of elections. "Just think what it's going to be like on Election Day if it's like this for early voting."

With five days left to vote before Tuesday, about 1.4 million people already have made their choice.

At least 718,000 had taken advantage of Florida's new early-voting system by Wednesday, according to a survey by the Orlando Sentinel of 64 of the state's 67 counties, including the most populated areas. At that pace, almost 1.1 million people will have cast ballots at early-voting sites by the end of Monday.

I stood in line 2 hours to vote early myself. Wonder if other early voting states are experienceing the same volume?

2. Early voting in Arkansas
My husband and I voted on Monday, but not at the same time. He doesn't work Mondays, and went in in the morning; I voted that evening after work. To vote you have to go to your county court house, which for us means an over 50 mile round trip. Anyway, when my husband voted, he had to stand in line. People were eager to vote, he said. When I voted that evening, there was no line, but I had a time putting my paper ballot in the already-stuffed ballot box. Our county has a total population of about 7000. In the county where I work, I've heard reports of lines and the county clerk being very busy with the early voting.

3. And this time the Florida Democratic Party called me a 1/2 dozen times
about sending me an app for an absentee ballot, unlike 2000. I used absentee ballot a) Touchscreens and b) being in Monroe La...

So I would bet over half the votes will be done before the election.

Also, Duval (suppress the black vote) only has 1 early voting station and that is at the SOE office. They promised two more but....

4. One has to wonder.............
how these votes are being handled or manipulated as we sit here. Does anyone have faith that these votes will not be tampered with? I certainly don't. I'm of the opinion that they are being massaged to obtain the results that certain Republicans desire. If anyone trusts these thieves they're crazy, they'll do anything to retain power for power is their lifeblood.

5. Holy Moly! Two fucking million? This is unbelievable.
I heard from a Floridian yesterday. He said they expect to wait three to five hours to vote on election day. They are getting food and water ready to brave the wait.

junior is going down big time in Florida!

Kerry by a landslide.
