Democrats did nothing to cause Republican pratfalls
<snip> The Republicans have managed to accomplish something in less than three months that the Democrats have been unable to do in the past four-plus years, which is to reveal that just below the surface lies an out-of-control party overdosing on the intoxicating fumes of its own arrogance. <snip>

Not even the president believes that the privatization plan he so strongly advocates will solve Social Securitys financial problems. As he crosses the country to hold prefabricated town-hall meetings, his handling of Social Security, according to Gallup/USA Today polling, hovers around 35 percent approval. <snip>

Adding to the Democrats festival disposition is ethically challenged Majority Leader Tom DeLay, now the visage du jour of the GOP. <snip>

Before Democrats start licking their lips in anticipation of the 2006 mid-term elections, they must realize that they have done little to contribute to the recent Republican misfortunes. <snip>

1. the beauty of all GOP control
is that they can't blame the fact that they haven't kept their promises on the Democrats. Even the most whacko extremists must be starting to realize that the GOP has no plans to forward their "Christian" agenda (no offense to real Christians meant-that's why the word is in quotes). And anyone who blames "activist judges" merely has to look at who appointed said judges to realize that this is just another GOP scam.

3. amazing that they can twist the argument to make the dems look bad
And this is typical behaviour for the Corporate Media Complex (CMC). The level of tolerance for minor issues or (as in this case) inaction is far, far higher for unethical republican thugs than it is for dems. I agree that the dems have not been proactive in unmasking the insanity otherwise known as the rethug 'base'. But shouldn't we be focusing ON THE PROBLEM of religious extremists ruining this country minute by minute? Isn't that really the main problem? Yes, the DLC leadership (prior to Dean) was lame, lame, lame, but damnit! the problem is a bunch of whacko neocon fundies!

Why is the CMC not focusing on this? Because when the truth comes out, their role as enablers will be revealed. :grr:
