Come to think of it, this whole thing is farcical. Sad thing is people die from a farce and buffoons' fantasies.

1. So let me see if I have this straight.
Up until a federal agent started talking to them these guys had like absolutely nothing going for them, would that be correct?

"While relatives said they were harmless and not even Muslims, an indictment released by the US Attorney-General, Albert Gonzales, said the men had sworn an oath of allegiance to al-Qaida"

This will be the part that gets them. If the feds enticed them into saying something on tape like this, which these yahoos would probably do so they could convince themselves they are about something, that is all they need to be able to hold up to the American people to show they really are conducting a war on terror here at home. No really, we are.

Get ready to kiss some more of our rights goodbye.

2. But isn't it better to have them off the streets while finding out if
they're serious?

I think it is. That may not be a popular opinion here, but remember: The FBI had its suspicions about several of the 9/11 hijackers, but did nothing.

How might history have changed if they had done something?

3. Trick the innocent into saying something that can be spun.............
into something that sounds dangerous, then arrest them and make them and their families go into debt and/or bankruptcy fighting bogus charges leveled by those too incompetent to properly investigate, take their freedom away until they can positively prove they have done nothing wrong.

It must be wonderful to implement laws such as these, and even joyful so long as you don't have to live by them.

You think these guys will be in suits and a big smile when their "mug shots are taken.

4. I agree with what you say, but I would also suggest
that we remember tricks of the past and follow this case to make sure there IS a disposition and it isn't allowed to fade away. The MSM's attention certainly dropped off in a hurry and it IS getting close to November. Dang! I hate it that I'm becoming so suspicious of everything that happens.
