PAUL KRUGMAN: A Socialist Plot
Suppose, for a moment, that the Heritage Foundation were to put out a press release attacking the liberal view that even children whose parents could afford to send them to private school should be entitled to free government-run education.

They’d have a point: many American families with middle-class incomes do send their kids to school at public expense, so taxpayers without school-age children subsidize families that do. And the effect is to displace the private sector: if public schools weren’t available, many families would pay for private schools instead.

So let’s end this un-American system and make education what it should be — a matter of individual responsibility and private enterprise. Oh, and we shouldn’t have any government mandates that force children to get educated, either. As a Republican presidential candidate might say, the future of America’s education system lies in free-market solutions, not socialist models.

O.K., in case you’re wondering, I haven’t lost my mind, I’m drawing an analogy. The real Heritage press release, titled “The Middle-Class Welfare Kid Next Door,” is an attack on proposals to expand the State Children’s Health Insurance Program. Such an expansion, says Heritage, will “displace private insurance with government-sponsored health care coverage.”....

1.  A Bunch Of Damn Hypocrites!
why don't they do a "study" on "corporate Welfare Queens" next? Because they would find out that the cost of most infrastructure needs including education, pales compared to corporate welfare as well as how the rich owners and their families (shall we say "Waltons" to begin with?) and how they live off out dime.

This "foundation" has done more damage and caused more human and community misery in the past 20 years than almost any other except perhaps the Reich wing nuts. In order to cleanse this nation of cockroaches like these pigs, they really should be ordered by the health department to be burnt to the ground in order to destroy those vermin. God damn Heritage Foundation hypocrites disgust me. They make me want to puke on their damn front door.

God I hate these people!

2. Exactly. One can count on Krugman to have the words to tell the story right
Government's sole dual role shouldn't be to wage wars and make the uber-rich more uber rich.

4. The Trouble Is, That's EXACTLY What They Think About Education, Too
That's why the GOP has been methodically destroying public education for decades....

From Head Start to college funding, there are people who want Americans as ignorant as dirt. And they are winning!

5. I come to realize that successful families ...
are socialist by choice; they enjoy sharing their fortunes. IOW socialism is a family value.

6. They think so little of their neigbhors. So is this war?
Can we now reach the conclusion that the Heritage Foundation is increasing the acrimony to stoke us to civil war? Because, I have to admit, it's working on me. These sons of bitches use their networks to stay rich, then turn around and try to stoke everybody else to fight each other so they can keep getting richer.

Isn't the Heritage Foundation tax exempt? Doesn't that make them welfare queens?
