Dennis Kucinich on Ed Schultz Show today 12 ET-3 ET
Edited on Wed Sep-12-07 07:53 AM by patrioticintellect
Dennis Kucinich will take to the airwaves for an unprecedented three hours today (Wednesday) when he becomes the first Presidential hopeful to accept the invitation of one of the nation's premiere radio broadcasters, Ed Schultz, for a no-holds-barred discussion of the issues, the candidates, and the priorities in the 2008 campaign.

Kucinich will be in Schultz's Fargo (North Dakota) studio beginning at noon (ET) to field questions from "America's #1 Progressive Talker" and from an audience that includes millions of listeners on local affiliates, including subscribers to Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio. (Check here) for local listings. The program is also streamed live over the Internet.

In national polls, Kucinich has been steadily creeping up on the perceived Democratic front-runners – Clinton, Obama, and Edwards – and, in some recent on-line surveys, he has significantly out-polled those top three.

Almost simultaneous with the first Presidential discussion on the Ed Schultz program, Kucinich will be participating in the Huffington Post "Democratic Presidential Mashup" http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tag/candidate-mashup/ where he will address wide-ranging questions from citizens all across the country that will posted and broadcast later this week.

After the Schultz program, Kucinich will leave for Hawaii, where he will be the first Presidential candidate to reach out to voters there since the campaign began early this year.

4. Commercial break update for those unable to listen
Petraeus and Bush are asking to go from surge to a stall. The intention to keep troops in Iraq is clear.

Only way out is to go to Bush---Democratic leaders should go to Bush and tell him you don't have the money. The war is over.

If a bill isn't drawn up, nothing is done. Insurance companies don't want universal health care---a bill isn't drawn up.

No bill---no vote. Doesn't matter if Dems have the votes. This is a "duh" situation.

So far, fake debate on Iraq ---here's the plan, here's the plan

And they want to attack the Republicans and say they are for the war... Give Me a BREAK!

Kucinich says vote for him because he brings clarity and cannot be bought or bossed.

To be quite specific, Sen. Clinton, Edwards, Dodd, Biden all gave strong speeches for war. That costed lives.

And Obama ...could he go before a Chicago Ward Club and say he's against the war while still funding it. He would get laughed at.

Stay tuned for more.

5. More of what's been said (commercial break update)
Won back majority in 2006 and continue to fund war ---now it's like Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Democrats are just like looking up into the air

There's been a break down of trust in minds of American

Dennis is running for president to reinstitute trust. He is the first one to come on out of all invited to come to the show and agree to talk for 3 hours in a real discussion of his stances.

Democrats have credibility problem because of failure to deliver on Iraq.

Tricked by Bush? How easy would it be to be tricked again?

Didn't do the research? Or knew cause Kucinich passed his research around to all members of the House and they ignored it? For what?

Stay tuned for more.

6. Commercial break update 45 minutes into show
Rally behind Nancy Pelosi and make effort to tell Bush no more money for war

Dennis is first on truth with Iraq, first with truth on Jessica Lynch, Pat Tillman

By putting a general in front of Congress let's military decide whether to stay in war. Civilian authorities constitutionally are to make that decision (Article 1 Section 8) Take Responsibility

Many in military against war (Veterans for Peace) Cry daily.

Chairman of Campaign helped draw up national security doctrine Strength Through Peace. He is West Point Grad Mike Klein.

More to come

7. Commercial break at 1 Hour Mark
Obligation to look at circumstances with which we send men and women to war.

We cannot continue to use neoconservative doctrine which is first strike, unilateralism, and pre-emption.

Civilian authorities using military to hide behind them.

Troops sent on hopeless mission and now civilian authorities asking military to decide when to leave (INSANE)

Strength Through Peace will give us an ability to defend ourselves without crazy unnecesary STAR WARS weapon systems.

War is about OIL--- Bush administration's connection to oil and the up to 30 trillion dollars in oil

More to come

8. 2nd 1 hour mark commercial break
Only Democrat who can win---only Democratic candidate who opposed war from the beginning, for universal free health care, opposed NAFTA and want it repealed and withdrawn from WTO, repeal PATRIOT Act, break up monopolies, etc.

Dennis is explicitly states, "I'll win when the People decide they want to Win."

Went to Syria because he wanted to see that there was a real interest for peace in the region and interest to end war in Iraq. Yes there is.

And found out they took in over 1,500,000 Iraqi refugees. Shouldn't the world show appreciation for doing that?

Do we have the sense to send positive message around the world? We should.

Neocons continue to attack Kucinich the only person who is willing to defend America.

Voted against PATRIOT Act because he actually read the bill at 2 am when it was delivered to his office one foot high and he saw disaster and voted against it. (NOT TRICKED)

Bush generated climate of fear after 9/11 and did this because this allowed government to control people. It allowed them to pursue their interests unrestrained.

He can win and break hold of fear. If you vote for lesser of two evils, you are still voting evil. He can win if you vote for him.

11. A formal write-up to come
I took notes the entire show. If interested, I will put up details of what was said throughout the whole show.

Point: Dennis was the first to go on and answer questions unedited/uninterrupted for 3 hours (well, a bit less with commercial breaks). Obama, Clinton, Edwards, Richardson, Dodd, Biden, and even that crazy guy we all love to listen to Gravel are invited. None of said if they want to come on the show and let callers ask them questions. Let's encourage the campaigns to go speak on the show so we can hear them speak the truth and get an idea of who has the courage to open themselves up to the American people and who doesn't.

So far, Dennis is winning because I feel like I know him from all he has said, I feel like we could be friends if I met him in a room, and I feel like I could trust him in office. He's opened up to the American people and given us the responsibility to decide if we want change or not. And if we don't, don't vote for him. But he's gonna keep fighting for us so I think we owe it to him to show our appreciation for his courageous acts.

12. Thanks
I was only able to catch about an hour. I wanted to call in and ask about his stand on RKBA (Right to Keep and Bear Arms); as a long time progressive and anti-war person I really hope he is open to reason on second amendment issues, if so I'm all in. Give me somebody who actually *READS* the f***ing bill before he votes on it any day!
