You were probably too busy to vote in last Tuesday's primary election.

But hey, not to worry: Right to Life, Michigan's most effective single-issue advocacy group, had it covered.

As always.

Year after year, in elections practically no one else pays any attention to, Right to Life identifies candidates who share their unconditional opposition to abortion and mobilizes a small but dependable army of like-minded voters to support them.

Last week's statewide primary, in which fewer than one in five registered Michigan voters participated, was no exception.

He's absolutely right. Republican primary candidates have to bend over backwards to appease Right to Life or else they're dead meat.

2. As a liberal Catholic I wish the Democratic Party wasn't wedded to the hip

to the abortion cause as I think it hurts us tremendously with Catholic ethnics and the right wingers use it as a cudgel against our party.
