Pot, Meet Kettle
By CHARLES M. BLOW

Fringe Republican race-baiting on Sonia Sotomayor, the Supreme Court nominee, has fallen flat.

According to polls, most Americans want to see her confirmed.

Furthermore, the picture that those Republicans painted of Sotomayor doesn’t seem to be supported by her actions. The Scotusblog examined her court of appeals decisions in race-related cases and found that she rejected claims of discrimination 80 percent of the time.

(snip)
What about those Republicans? Did they apologize? Only Newt Gingrich, in a sense, but his sights may be set on the White House in 2012.

What about Tom Tancredo, the former congressman who not only called Sotomayor a racist but compared her to members of the Ku Klux Klan?

Not a peep, even as the appearance of his hypocrisy on Sotomayor soared to new heights as details were revealed of a racial attack two years ago by a man who is now the executive director of a political action committee co-founded by Tancredo.
