No More Tears (please do not ask why we "hate" you)

No More Tears

"Whatever you ask, please do not ask why we "hate" you. Putting aside the simplistic and dichotomic nature of such a question -- "you're either with us or against us," your great leader says -- let me give you my straight answer: I don't."

OMAR BARGHOUTI

Dear Americans,

I’ve written to you a published open letter a year after the criminal attacks of September 11th reiterating my heartfelt condemnation of those attacks, while reminding you, despite your pain, to search deeper for the context, for the root causes that made them possible. I still had not run out of sympathy for your victims then. After Iraq, you can still count on my moral rejection of any similarly criminal attack against you in the future, but you can forget about my sympathy. I hope you realize what the difference means.
...
Why do most of you hate us, we, people of the south, should ask?
...
Your country is way too powerful now for anyone to have the guts to drag it to the international criminal court, where most of your leaders ought to stand trial; but if Rome is any example, I would not take solace in that transient strength.

I found this at The Smirking Chimp, but in case anyone missed it, you shouldn't. Simply, it puts the hateful arrogance on the miserable failure and his associated count pretending to run this country in its appropriate context.

1. Damn. That's powerful stuff.
I share many of those views. I'm embarrassed daily by the media coverage of the chimp in office. I've marched in the streets against the invasion of Iraq before and after. And yet, I still feel indicted by this article.

Can this country/empire be saved? Or is it too late?

2. Take heart freinds,It is not too late. Bush and his crew are out the door
come November. They have made so many enemies in the Military and Intelligence communities alone ,they are out of office. These are powerful people in thier own right and they have been double crossed too many times. BUSHCO NO MORE. ...Oscar

3. So what's up with the "rolling thunder" vets at the WH?
Were they pissed that C-SPAN didn't carry them this year? Why are "they" dissing Kerry? He's a real Vet.

5. I believe it was an arranged event. How they arranged it,who knows.
How many were actual Veterans ? Could have been paid to do it ,all kinds of things. There are still some rather brainwashed Vets out there. I believe most are coming to the realization that Bushco is no friend of troops :presently serving or those of us who did in the past...Oscar

4. Now this is a fact I fully agree with-
"And I strongly resent the fact that in order to keep prices low at your gas pumps, Arabs have had to suffer under despotic rulers, hand-picked and buttressed by your consecutive governments for decades"
(from the article)

6. Hate is not the answer
Hate is a very expensive emotion where little is benefitted from the great amount of energy expended. It is for that reason, I hate only that which truly deserves hate and Bush is not worth that kind of expenditure. There is a great seething anger which is a very useful emotion for it drives one to take rational action against that which is the source of the anger. Expressing one's wrath will be far more devastating to whom it is aimed at without damaging the self whereas hatred damages all involved. Bush certainly deserves to be on the business end of what ever ire we can generate towards him.

7. Hate is not the answer
I totally agree that hate is not the answer. The only way to change the current outlooks is to activate & participate. We need to become more involved We must, Speak Up/Speak Out now before this country & government runs amuck further. Flood your representatives & congressman with your e-mails, letters, etc. so that they can't deny how you feel. Be part of the process to change it from within.

Radical measures have in the past not helped anyone cause or movement. Rather the conservatives few that as just another example of the extreme leftists. We have to work from within to affect the changes we envision. I saw what happenend in the movement of the 60's, (I was too young then to participate - 10yrs old) such a shame that they got so screwed up by the drugs, they really lost site of their goals. But, who introduced those drugs really? Could it even then have been part of the overall plan (by the power-elite) to disrupt their movement by introducing the LSD, speed & heroin to these students involved??? Hmmmm food for thought.

Anyway, I have been in the process of posting my commentary to many sites, if you are interested one place is Bartcop.com political forums area. I have no idea if persons will respond & activate, but I am at least being read, heard by others. I can no longer sit back and IGNORE the current events, nor can I believe that they will just go away.THEY WILL NOT!

Has anybody recently taken any college sociology classes? I struggled with the basic lessons this Spring only in that I could not swallow what I was being fed. Much to my surprise they tell you in black & white the plan for all of us. It's not a pretty site for those who are not part of the "power-elite". Who you may ask who are those persons (Power-elite)?? Weellll, the equation is this $$$+Power=Domination that include the global perspective. Basically they ask at the end of the class, where do you plan to be??

I for one, plan to go down at least expressing my views and to take my stand.
