Should Hillary replace Biden on the ticket? - poll
There's been so much talk about this lately that the White House commented on it this morning on Twitter. I don't think it's going to happen. But would you want it to happen?

The pro is that some people think it could make the ticket stronger, but I doubt that since the right hates her as much as him. But the other one is that it could set her up for 2016.

1. NO, no, no, no...
First of all, she doesn't want it.

Secondly, I don't trust her too much. Esp. since she has apparently pushed the tar sands project.

And she most definitely is not running for President in 2016. I doubt she'll even be SOS in Obama's next term.

2. "so much talk"? This one's news to me. What is exactly wrong with our Vice President?
I'd really like to know.

3. No. It would do neither.
First off, she's said that Secretary of State is her last public job. She's done after this. Besides, she's not young anymore, and probably wants to be able to kick back and await the grandkids.

6. Biden is older than Hillary
maybe he wants to kick back and enjoy his grandkids? He's not that young either. He's 5 years older than Hillary. Of course Jerry Brown is older than both of them & now the governor of California. So not sure age has anything to do with it. In any event I agree with you, she said it and I don't believe she wants it either. But I really hope she doesn't retire from public life, I think she still has a lot to offer. It also makes me proud, as a woman, to see what she has achieved. She's a helluva lot better than Palin or Bachmann, and their quests for the Vice Presidency & the Presidency. I would take Hillary on any ticket over those two idiots any day of the week.

7. Biden isn't running for anything after this job, either.
Expecting him to run in 2016 is equally unrealistic.

8. Biden is "running" in 2012
in a sense, as VP, and he will be 70 in November 2012. And he is older than Hillary, so to say she is too old for the vice presidency on a ticket in 2012 is a misnomer. When you think about it, Reagan was 69 when he ran for president in 1980 (first term) But I agree with you, I doubt Biden will run for the presidency in 2016.

4. I think it amounts to re-arraging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
As in: Keeping the same cast of characters in positions of power isn't going to bring about any significant change.

5. "Jackanapes" Obama?
Edited on Thu Oct-13-11 07:25 PM by JohnnyRingo
That's what the poll calls Obama in the last option.

According to Wiktionary:

1450, from “Jack of Naples”, with “of Naples” rendered “a Napes” in vernacular. Originally rendered as Jac Napes, Jac Nape, and Jack Napis in 1450s. Presumably from *Jak a Napes, and original *Jak of Naples, presumably circa 1400. Monkeys were one of many exotic goods from Naples exhibited in Britain, hence acquired the nickname Jack a Napes.

In sense “upstart person”, applied to 15th century William de la Pole, 1st Duke of Suffolk, one of first nouveau riche nobles (risen from merchant class). The family used a collar and chain on their coat of arms, which was an unfortunate choice, as this was more associated with monkey leashes, leading to the derisive nickname Jack Napis for de la Pole, yielding the insult.

Later mis-analyzed as Jack-an-apes (16th and 17th century), leading to folk etymology (taking “ape” from “monkey”). The same process and mis-analysis occurred for fustian of Naples, which became fustian a napes, fustian anapes, etc.

12. She said herself that it's "Not in the Realm of Possibility".
Edited on Thu Oct-13-11 08:31 PM by JTFrog
And she also said that Biden is doing an "amazingly good job".

I don't know why people waste their time on shit like this.

And what a disgusting fucking poll. Why drag that shit here?
