1. It will be tangible
Becuase O'Neill was an insider and a conservative-to-boot.

3. but what?
whats going to happen?

Hell, it's been 6 months since Plame was out by an administration official, and very little about that case has impacted anything...much less the American public.

6. Its all about credability...
....O'Neill has it. Plus, as I said, he's a well respected conservative not a lefty, democrat, liberal, etc.....

If anything it adds more onto the credability gap Buscho has and paints Bush as a warmonger.

This will hurt the GOP and the right.

In what ways, lets vote......other people, who are trying not to beleive that Buscho and the PNAC are bottom-feeders, will start to get the idea.

11. well, we'll see
but there have been so many other examples of why Bush is untrustworthy before, and yet he still gets big support

Hell, John Kerry said Bush was "a good man trying to do good things" I guess he's fooled too.

24. It's frustrating, but I'm trying to be patient
I'm keeping in mind that the Plame investigation and the official 9/11 investigation are not over yet. I'll be quite interested to see what comes out of them (assuming they don't disappear) after the things O'Neill has said. I'd also like to see all those documents made public.

So I wait....

for some, that's all that matters. If he turns out to actually be worse than Clinton, they will support him even more to avoid losing face (and avoid saying that the libruls were right!)

13. I doubt that it will do
very much to this Administration. Remember the last time he got a alot of 'bad press'? When they were actually reporting the number of our troops being killed each day? Telling how bad it was in Iraq? They came out and told them to start reporting all the good things? The media was put in it's place and hasn't recovered since. This will be a one day story at best. Sure hope I'm wrong. Wish there was something we could do. CNN doesn't even answer my e-mails anymore.

18. Will be a much more modulated and attenuated statement
...than the pre-publicity buzz machine wants people to think it will be. That's the usual pattern. He's said a few things that will come out as much more modestly critical in context than the reports we've been seeing, tied up with some kind of forelock-tugging nod to the overall wisdom and boldness of Bush's leadership.

But of course I do hope I'm drastically and embarrassingly wrong about that.

19. It's ALREADY had a huge impact
The right wing media has been SILENT for 24 hours. What a blessing! They're scrambling trying to figure out how to respond to this. The 60 minutes episode should be huge. I think this thing has legs already.

No amount of danaging revelations had ANY impact against Ronnie. The people simply refused to hear anything against him. I darkly fear that bush is bestowed with a Reagan-like supercoating of teflon.

23. I'd like to hear what Pat Buchanan --
-- has to say about O'Neill's claim. When O'Neill was fired, Buchanan, on Buchanan & Press, said that he thought there was no convincing evidence that O'Neill had done such a bad job, and that the way the Bush White House handled the dismissal was unprofessional. Pat can blister fellow GOPers when he wants to.

If Rove tries to smear O'Neill on this, and of course he will, it might provoke a Buchanan candidacy. I think Buchanan thinks O'Neill was done wrong and a Rove smear job could be the trigger switch.

I'm appalled at Buchanan's far-right views, but he at least keeps to a consistent code. I don't think Bush/Cheney/Ashcroft HAVE a code, at least not an ethical one.

Remember the 1980s?? Nothing, but NOTHING got through Ronnie's teflon. I darkly fear that bush has one, too. Not sure yet, but I suspect he does.

The media will do their treasonous best to bury the story behind sensationalist shark stories and/or crotch sniffing stories and the alert will be raised to orange to keep the "terrorist" mythology alive.

38. If they had planned this war in the first quarter of 01,this is
documented, and shows the cause was oil, then it most certainly does away with the rush to war before we go up in mushroom clouds lies that Bush fed to the American people.

The UN wanted more time to find the WMD's, but Bush,Cheney, and Powell insisted that there was no time...the world was in immediate danger and we had to act quickly. The timeline is the significance here. If Iraq was such a huge danger that this administration was planning on this war since the 1st quarter of 01, then why didn't we act sooner? Why 2 years later?

IMHO, this proves the BIG LIE...particularly if there is official documentation. I hope we get to have a look at those papers and as others have said, a look at Cheney's secret energy papers as well.

39. NOVAKula Already Started the Smear on O'NEILL
On Capital Gang, his outrage of the week was O'NEILL, saying he was an outsider in the Mal-administration, that the lesson to Shrub was NOT to pick "somebody he didn't know" for a job. In other words, they're going to paint him as a "disgruntled employee". Typical totalitarian technique, smearing whistleblowers as mentally ill, the way DRUDGE and others tried with BROCK.

41. Yeah. "Disloyalty" is the accusation whenever their crimes are exposed
Doesn't change the facts. Doesn't even challenge the facts. Tacitly ADMITS the facts, in fact. But that doesn't stop 'em from thinking it somehow trumps the actual revelations.

Compare the Wilson thing. He proved a BushCorp lie. Their defense? He wasn't really on their side! He was anti-Bush!

Thus they train the public in their own cynicism: there is no truth, only political allignment. Those who are not with us are against us! That's all they've got. And they think it's enough.

And god knows, given the apparent decrease in the average IQ in the US, they may be right.
