Who is doing what for the Average American – a rant

There was something in the air yesterday (Monday) because it seemed to be the day to rail especially hard on Democrats. I decided to wait until today to have my say because had I said anything yesterday I would have surely gotten banned by the mods, and rightfully so too. By waiting until today maybe the mods will just lock the thread if the bashing I fully expect gets too carried away. Anyway, the three articles that just boiled my blood were about what Dems have done for blacks, Clinton setting Dems back a decade, and the need for Dems to turn their back on Clinton.

Now excuse the crap out of me but for all of Democrats wrongs, and there are plenty, I claim that Dems are still a whole lot better for any race/religion/creed of American than reTHUGS ever dreamed of being. I further contend that for all of the liberal “principled voters” we ourselves still have plenty of faults and yet we ask that our leaders be perfect?? Yes, life is a choice and sometimes those choices aren’t as pretty as we might like.

As I see it the choices are between imperfect Democrats and out and out criminal rethugs. I’ve included the three threads I mentioned above and also included a few threads that I spent very an entire three little time gathering concerning what the rethugs are up to these days. If mere minutes can garner this much information then stop and think what else might be going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about yet. Oh, and I didn’t even include the stuff like stolen elections, the LIHOP of 9/11, or any of the other really juicy stuff. So, what else rethugs might pull is a question whose answer scares the holy crap out of me. I am, therefore, willing to take an imperfect Democrat, any imperfect Democrat, over an out and out criminal rethug any day. Now I would have to take a deep breath and hold my nose to vote for lieberman but yes I would vote for Lieberman in a hot second over the rethugs.

One last thing before I let you all flame away at me. This criminal activity of the rethugs has been going on at least since the days of Nixon and each neo con administration since then has only gotten worse and worse. I, for one, don’t need another neo con criminal administration to show me how much worse it can get for us, I am more than willing to take past actions as their future intent.

BTW, I’m not saying I have all the answers because I sure don’t. What I am saying is that if beating the neo cons back to Crawford is to be a reality then getting our act together and getting a message that most of us can agree on has to start real quick now and it has to start right here at DU.

1. Clinton set the Democrats back 30 years, not just 10.

He handed the whole country over to the right wing on a silver platter. He gave them NAFTA, the Telecom Act, & Welfare Reform. He gave them a nice little war in Kosovo (lying about the reason for it). He didn't value the trust people placed in him enough to keep his mitts off sweet young thangs, even when he knew the rightwing was gunning for any excuse to bring him down.

Now Bush gets in a little trouble with YellowcakeGate -- so along comes Clinton to rescue him. This means that after all Bush has done, Clinton still goes to bat to SAVE the little SOB, rather than giving him a nice push off the cliff.

Clinton is a jerk. His politics are to the right of Eisenhower. He's a conservative Republican in all but name. He's a PERFECT role model for today's Democratic Party - a liar & sellout who's not at all what he pretends to be.
