WSJ's Al Hunt has some advice for Tom Tancredo
Edited on Sun Jan-11-04 09:59 AM by Bush_Eats_Beef
Here's the link for yesterday's "Capital Gang" show transcript from CNN:
http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0401/10/cg.00.html

A brief clip is played of Tom Tancredo, who has consistently raised concerns over the proposed Bush "guest worker" plan:

"REP. TOM TANCREDO (R), COLORADO: Employers would start publishing jobs, publicizing jobs availability for about $2 or $3 less an hour than they're presently paying, right? They won't get any takers. Then they'll go, of course, to this pool of workers."

After referring to the proposal as "a great political move for George Bush," Al Hunt offers his opinion on future input from Tancredo:

"Politically, it is a terrific winner, and George Bush is in such great shape with his base that he can have a simple message for the Tom Tancredos of the world: Drop dead. (LAUGHTER)"

The whole transcript is well worth reading. Senator Chuck Hagel from Nebraska feels compelled to give Bush "credit for the leadership and the courage to go forward with it," which inspires Hunt to inform the panel that "Chuck, by the way, is terrific on this issue and will be indispensable to the president."

"Tom Tancredos of the world" = anyone who questions or challenges Bush. He's in great shape with his base so BRING IT ON. Thanks Al!
