Study Published by Army Criticizes War on Terror's Scope
<snip>

A scathing new report published by the Army War College broadly criticizes the Bush administration's handling of the war on terrorism, accusing it of taking a detour into an "unnecessary" war in Iraq and pursuing an "unrealistic" quest against terrorism that may lead to U.S. wars with states that pose no serious threat.

The report, by visiting professor Jeffrey Record, who is on the faculty of the Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama, warns that as a result of those mistakes, the Army is "near the breaking point."

It recommends, among other things, scaling back the scope of the "global war on terrorism" and instead focusing on the narrower threat posed by the al Qaeda terrorist network.

1. FINALLY!
Someone who cannot be accused of being "anti-military" or soft on defense has finally admitted what rational people have said all along about the war on terror--

There is no war on terror that makes sense, fought in the way Bush and his junta think it should be fought.

If we want to defeat terrorism, we need good intelligence, which involves sharing with allies, like the French, and others who have opportunities to gather actual information, and not the b.s. that the neocons have been passing off as intelligence since they lied about invading Saddam, if not long, long before.

The people running the show right now are incompetent, and we cannot afford to have them continue to mess things up.

As Perle's new "manifesto" showed, they did not learn a thing from all the stupid assumptions and things they did since Bush took office...as O'Neill also corroborates, as does the Col. who wrote the excellent, excellent report on what goes on with this mis-administration in The American Conservative magazine.

The media are so behind the curve on this, they are an embarrassment to themselves.

I, too, am very happy that others are studying the stupidity of this so-called 'War'! Bring my cousin home!

4. As long as
Bush and his ilk feel personally threatened by the serfs of the world foreign wars will be the norm. They are afraid.
