Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! The Sh@t's about to hit the fan in Iraq!
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha .... The simpleton PNAC'ers, AEI'ers etc... thought they were so smart.... They thought it would be so easy!!!!!

How come...HOW COME!!!! A little old peon like me sitting here in Central Florida knew that when the rumblings of war were pinging from the Neo's in the Bush Administration that this would go exactly the way it's been going?.... Here comes those dang Shiites and the good old Grand Ayatollahs... Waaaa...did little old Paul Bremer in his sweet little Armani suits think that he'd bring the numerous factions together in Iraq to live in harmony... Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha !

I knew this would happen...We at DU knew this would happen.... We have documented evidence on DU that this would happen. Iraq is about to explode into an uncontrollable mess in the next couple of days...

The games up boys... either give into the American Hating Ayatollahs, or shut them out and risk massive retaliation.

They got Check on us and are about to call Checkmate!

Your move Bunnypants....

BushCo f**ked this up beyond belief; but for our men and women over there, it's not funny.

6. Hopefully they will not get harmed in any way
But the poster is right in a way. It is all screwed up, just like a number of people thought it would be. That is attributable to the sheer ignorance of the "administration" which has no idea of what war actually is. And once again, hopefully your friends and family will come safely and soon.

17. Perhaps it has sommething to do with this news...
US downplays rift with Iraq Shia

The US administrator in Iraq, Paul Bremer, has played down differences with the majority Shia population over the transfer of power to the Iraqis.
He was speaking after talks with President George W Bush in Washington.

The spiritual leader of Iraqi Shias, Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, is demanding direct elections before the transfer of power at the end of June.

7. This just goes to show that these bumbling idiots have no idea what
they are doing or what they were getting themselves into. They thought we would be viewed as liberators and they would hug us and love us. They obviously didn't take a look at the geopolitical landscape over there before they decided to beat the drum for war.

I don't blame the Iraqi's one bit for being totally outraged. This administration wants to repeat history. They want to put a "friend" in charge of Iraq, just like Saddam was a friend that we funded to lead Iraq. They don't want a puppet government, they want a real government. I hope we don't cut and run June 30 and leave the Iraqi's on their own. I fear it would lead to civil war. BTW, I am not for keeping the troops over their either, in a perfect world the UN or NATO would be handling things.

15. US Troops Turning into Hostages ?
This is a concern. If Cheney can't get a real multinational presence in there soon, will our soldiers become hostages in a country at war with itself.

Is this building up to something like the ignominious flight from Saigon but on a massive scale?

What will happen to the women of Iraq who used to be the most free in the Middle East?

It has the potential to become a much worse disaster than it is already.

8. Bremer had really nice things to say about Ayatollah Sistani...uh-huh...
Yep, he's the equivalent of Ayatollah Khomeini in Iraq. Nobody knows what is going to happen. They improvise as they go along. They had no plans - we know that. Now we can only hope that the place does not erupt into a civil war. If we hand it over to a "picked" government on July 1st, it will only be 4 months until the election...here in this country. After that, we can go back into stabilize the place. But, in that brief period of time, the Bush Administration believes they can spin whatever happens as a temporary situation and normal for a country trying to establish a democracy.

12. I'm not sure it'll blow in a couple of days, but it is getting ripe there.
Haven't the powers-to-be there been given a deadline of July by Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani? Won't they drag out an answer to him at least for a few months? (to stall while they come up with an actual plan for transition)

No doubt, though - Shrub's in a serious pickle!
