PROOF that GWB rules like a dictator from Mitch Daniels.
Last week Mitch Daniels was on News Hour and something that he said has been ringing in my ears ever since. I'm going to paraphrase:

Everyone knows that there are three rules for meetings with George W. Bush. First, be one time. Second, don't bring a cell phone. Third, DON'T BRING ANY POLLS.

Now, this isn't referring just to popularity/election-related polls. What Daniels was talking about is also polls about POLICIES--do Americans want better access to health care, do Americans want gun control, do Americans want environmental protection, etc. TO THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION, THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS WHAT BUSH AND HIS TOP LEVEL PEOPLE WANT. The rest of us are IRRELEVANT and if anyone even mentions our beliefs, wants, and needs to our "emperor" he will be furious.

I guess if you don't have time to read O'Neil's book, this is a quick way to grasp what the inner circle is like. Evil rulers have to live in high-security echo chambers.

7. Once he has big business pleased, he will then go all out to please
the likes of Jerry Falwell and Pat Roberts. Instead of the rush to give tax incentives and roll back crucial environmental laws, it will be a rush to reform text books, make school prayer mandatory, ban homesexual marriage, make abortion illegal, fund out the butt faith based programs thus allowing job creation based on religion.

There is after all, not much more he can possibly do for big business. The fundies are next. Especially if he is a lame duck for the next 4 years.
