Protesting the SOTU
I realize this would be unprecedented but considering Bush's disdain for the democratic party and his arrogance regarding the Pickering nomination, would it be possible for the dems to engage in some sort of SOTU protest? Could they not clap? remain seated? walk out? I realize there might be a PR backlash but at least people might start thinking "hey, something must be pretty wrong". I realize they are supposed to show respect to the office but clearly, Bush isn't even supposed to BE in office.

Thanks.

2. It would be nice
But, sadly, I don't think they'll do anything.

I'm looking forward to the day when the democrats realize that "go along to get along" isn't working.

4. It could send a mesage to America....
that a lot of people do not agree with Junior....and no doubt, would piss him off to the max. I have suggested that they do not applaud any new spending or references to the huge deficit. They should be very choosy with their applause.

9. Do they represent you?
I have suggested that they do not applaud any new spending or references to the huge deficit. They should be very choosy with their applause.

They are supposed to be representing all of us, their constituents. We elected them, and we pay their salary. I don't know why they feel that they have to cheer like trained monkeys every time the Chimp stops to take a breath. We certainly aren't cheering. I think it's important that they be there to hear what is said... as our representatives... but by golly they don't have to act like they like what they hear. I'd like to see them exchanging some meaningful glances of the "can you believe this nonsense?" sort and jotting down notes fast and furious. Then I'd like to see the Democratic side of the aisle just about explode with conversations among themselves to the point where they don't even see that Chimpy and his cortege have left.

5. When In Rome
What a glorious scene that would be if our Democrat's would walk out on this abomination to our nation. Has it ever happened? What are they waiting for, a worst Resident than this? Maybe they need to take a look at how the Brit's would handle the situation. Lord give us a representative for the people somewhere in my life time!

13. Beware of false prophets!
It's either left or right, Ying or Yang, right or wrong.
Just like the Zimm once stated: " It may be the devil, it may be the Lord, but you got to serve somebody."
Personally I think Yashua was way cool!

15. Old fashioned boos and catcalls would be appropriate
but all I expect to see is a bunch of spinless Dems sitting there with their tails between their legs - clapping politely lest they offend the Emperor.

16. How about facing the opposite direction?
It's too late now but at some point we may have to call on our congresspersons to do this. Maybe congressional security would escort them out for such defiance. A proud day for democracy that would be.
