Bush wanted a war? Let's give him a war.
If, at this point in time, we cannot muster support throughout the country to get this bunch of fools out of the executive branch of our government, we are truly a bunch of pathetic fools.

It's difficult for me to actually do this, but let's pull back and look at this from some distance .......

Pretend I'm making this all up for a moment ........

Our President got himself into power, then proceeded to convince a lot of people, enough people, that another country was an imminent threat.

He then started a war. Yes, he used the United States military to invade this other country.

I repeat, our President started a war. Against a country that had never attacked us.

Against a country whose threat was a complete fabrication.

This war has now been responsible for the deaths of thousands, the wounding of scores of thousands more.

These actions have destroyed the credibility of our country throughout the world.

He has sent US the bill for this -- 250 billion and rising every day.

If this were five years ago, and somebody asked you a hypothetical question: "What would you do, if sometime in the future, a man because president of the United States and did (all of the above) --

What would your reaction to this be?"

If we can't make these rather OBVIOUS crimes a rather OBVIOUS reason to kick his ass out of office and into jail ......

well, we're more screwed than the most pessimistic among us think we are.

Now is the time. The last shreds of possibility that these people were telling the truth have just been removed.

This is the time when we start fighting.

Everybody, today, Monday February 2, should call everybody you can think of -- your congresspeople, your media outlets, and let them know what you think.

It's time to run these guys out of town on a rail. It's time for the tar and feathers. It's time to shout down the complicit media.

It's time to take our country back.

Everybody on DU needs to check in here starting today, and quickly write down what you did to let people know about this, to make noise, to complain, and to not stop until everybody hears us, and everybody realizes.

He wanted a war. Let's give him a war.

2. Maybe if there was an original angle............
or some new ideas that everyone doesn't already agree with, it would get more traction.

11. the angle is this: It is now crystal clear that Bush lied
And so did Cheney ....

And so did Powell ...

and so did Condi ....

etc. etc.

They can't deny it now.

They have never been more vulnerable. Their pants are around their ankles.

3. I've sent e-mail after e-mail
Talking to others, phone calls. What do I get? Ignore, ignore ignore.

But hey, vote in our poll. Blah, there are too many chiefs and not enough Indians with seperate agendas. We need to give him the war, I just don't know how we can get the fighters under one roof.

5. I hope so

But I'm rather pessimistic about it at the moment. My worst fear is a democratic president who favors the status quo or a variation of it.
This is not going to help us in any way whatsoever.

7. Settling for voting these guys out is just that -- settling
these people took our country into a war.

It's difficuilt to think about this objectively right now, but think about it -- if five years ago somebody asked you

"if somebody became president and then told us a bunch of lies so that they could invade a country, and you then found out the lies were 100% fabrications, how would you feel?"

How would you feel? Well, that's how you should feel today.

http://www.congress.org/congressorg/home/

Call them. Tell them how you feel.

Don't let Bush choose his own commission.

And the fact that they get away with it makes me even angrier. And the fact that it's just us 3 answering the thread shows alot. I'll do my best. :(

9. Voting out a horrible President is how our Democracy......
works. I am not arguing with your feelings of anger and rage; I share them, but unless you completely change the entire American governmental system the only way to get rid of Bush is via the vote.

14. Don't forget 1 (800) 839 - 5276 - TOLL FREE to Capitol Hill
It's the TOLL FREE Capitol Hill switchboard number - you call it and ask to be transfered to anybody's office in the House and/or Senate. They switch you for free.

The congress.org site is also good because sometimes the Capitol Hill numbers get busy. You can usually always get through to the local office.

Now is the time. I've been watching this for a while now, and these guys are now vulnerable as they're ever gonna be.

They are red-handed.

6. doing ANYTHING is good
It almost doesn't matter what you do as long as you do something.

It's like the "butterfly effect". You know, you go back in time, step on a butterfly, and change the course of history.

It's vital that everybody who is conscious of this to do something, even if it's one e-mail, one phone call, one letter to the editor, anything!

I just called my Senators. I'm 42, a moderate, and I've never called a senator ever in my life.

The people who answered the phone were very nice and listened to my rant.

It felt good to rant. Believe me.

go to this website, do a search on your congresspeople, get their phone number, and call them.

http://www.congress.org/congressorg/home/

If everybody on DU calls their senators or congresspeople or whatever, today, it will be noticed.

12. Whitewater, and Watergate
Happened because people kept up the heat until both boiled over and made history.

It is our duty to make history this time. Keep up the pressure, don't ever give up. Does anyone here remember how the pukes kept at Clinton? Time for us to use their example.

Just look how folks have kept alive the AWOL issue alive for three years, and now it's front page stuff!

Just don't give up. Keep the heat on these squatters.

13. exactly. So far today I've called Boxter, Feinstein and Kennedy
and I'm calling Levin next chance I get.

We have to keep at it or it will be ignored.

I also e-mailed the Kerry campaign and I'm gonna go on their blog and see what noise I can make.

17. My husband wore his anit-* shirt to the transmission shop today
And the transmission guy gave him a deal! He said "Anti-Bush, eh? I hate that pr*ck!"
Nothing quite like a good anti-* shirt to start a political conversation.
Let the war begin!
