9/11 Families: "It's a symbol of failure (for Bush)"
Bush plays politics with 9/11

Republican speculation that Bush may use ground zero as a convention backdrop has some 9/11 victims' families appalled.

snips....

"We read that and we were just sick to our stomachs," says David Pototari, co-director of September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows.

"It's totally inappropriate," says Kristen Breitweiser, whose husband, Ronald, was killed at the World Trade Center. "The president won't testify before the entire 9/11 commission, he won't testify under oath, and he fought the creation of the commission for one year. So for him to have the audacity to even think of going to ground zero is absolutely deplorable. That's sacred ground. That's solemn, holy ground where my husband and 3,000 others were murdered. It doesn't belong to politics."

Some of the 9/11 families wonder why Bush would want to shine a spotlight on 9/11 at all, since they insist it highlights a massive breakdown of his government to prevent the attack. "It's a symbol of failure," Pototari says. "The president is charged with defending this country, and literally nothing was done during the two hours of attack to defend the county. I've never been able to understand how Republicans have turned this tragedy into a victory."

"Everything that could go wrong went wrong," says Lori Van Auken, who also lost her husband on 9/11. "Every defensive measure failed."

"If you're proud of your actions, you explain what happened," says Van Auken. "If you're not proud, you do it behind closed doors with two commissioners for one hour."

1. Breitweiser and Mariani are two of my favorite people in the world
how dare Bush dance on the graves of 911 victims for his nomination speech? It's beyond disgusting. He won't get away with it.

2. I agree
let him try and hold his convention there. I've thought for a while now that this might and I mean might blow up in his face. It's just a bad idea, hopefully this gets more media airtime as it gets closr.

Bush Disrespecting the 9/11 Families

"George W. Bush has set a time limit on his testimony to the committee investigating the 9/11 attacks to 1.2 seconds per victim."

11. OOoooo! Could he have a Bill O'Reilly moment?
SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!

That would be more comical, and more suicidal, than the "tears" thing.

Ahh, but it will never happen. Anybody with a stray, non-sanctioned thought will be kept far, far away from the ultimate symbol of Bush's crowning achievement, namely the former location of the World Trade Center, now the sole reason for not being able to criticize the sitting Resident.

7. If * tries to use the site, the famiies of the victims
should meet at the site and block the entrance to the grounds. They should form a line, hand-in-hand, around the site and protest its political use. Can you imagine how hard it would be for the police or anyone else to forceably remove those family members? Wouldn't make a pretty picture, but certainly would make a big news story!
Go 9-11 families, get your movement started now!! I will even contribute to a fund to pay for the family members to be there, I will support them all the way!

10. Here's a Start
9-11 truth seekers - we are on the MOVE !! Join the effort to bring the
mainstream peace movement on board with the 9-11 truth movement.

We have raised $775.00 to purchase 1,550 "Stop the 9-11 Cover Up" posters to
pass out to demonstrators at the March 20th mass mobilization against the war
in San Francisco and New York.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!! We want to have thousands of signs to pass out to
marchers against the war, and instruct them to hold the signs up over their heads
facing the speakers/organizers of these peace demonstrations as they speak on
3/20.

You can join this effort by donating via credit card at www.911visibility.org
or by calling us at 913-648-2256. You must act now, as we will only be able
to get these signs for the low cost of .50 each to send to the 3/20
mobilizations against the war. San Francisco & New York activists have volunteered to
pass them!!

Whatever you can give, $10, $20, $100, $500 or more . . . act today!!

www.911sharethetruth.com is giving us the signs virtually at cost because
they know that it is CRITICAL to the 9-11 truth movement, and to the future of
our democracy, to have an ocean of "Stop the 9-11 Cover Up" signs for the
mobilization organizers and tv cameras to see on 3/20. (You can view the "Stop the
9-11 Cover Up" signs at www.911sharethetruth.com.

We are becoming a force, if we work together. PLEASE visit
www.911visibility.org and click on the "donate" button to donate securely via paypal. We need
to print and ship the signs, there is no time to wait, we must act now.

Warm regards, and keep the faith.

Bill Douglas, National 911visibility.org Project, www.septembereleventh.org

12. If he tries that, not only will the
families be there to block him, but so will hundred's of thousands of New Yorkers. His visit would be the height of hypocracy!!

14. This line says it all...
"If you're proud of your actions, you explain what happened," says Van Auken. "If you're not proud, you do it behind closed doors with two commissioners for one hour."

Can we get that in the Democratic Platform for 2004!

A nice voice over: "If you're proud of your actions, you explain what happened," with video of Clinton and Gore testifying to the FULL COMMITTEE
Screen shot fades to left half of screen, right side of screen is far shot of a closed door with a sign that says 911 Commission - Closed 12:00 to 1:00, as the camera moves closer the voice-over continues; "If you're not proud, you do it behind closed doors with two commissioners for one hour."

With a close of, Vote Democratic Nominees Name to restore Honor and Dignity
