Kerry and Edwards "summoned back" to Capitol Hill on SuperTues.
Wha? an "emergency vote" on the gun control bill? No manipulation there, I bet! <sar.>

these Pukes do nothing but bully and throw hissy fits. They have no way to defend their ridiculous positions, so they cheat.

Who here believes this is mere coincidence and not a gambit to keep the candidates off the road today?

1. Of course it is...
And by coming off the road to protect the voters against a corrupt industry and an extremist special interest group, both Edwards and Kerry show why they ought to be president....

2. well naturally they should come back to vote
and it's a big improvement over Gephardt (for example) that they will,
but I detect frantic engineering on the part of the Republicans to hold this vote TODAY, rather than say yesterday or tomorrow. And it just frosts me. One more thing, y'know?

<end rant>

3. What about the Medicare bill?
Kerry missing the medicare vote was inexcusable in my opinion.

I'll still vote for him come November, but missing the medicare vote was WRONG. His vote wouldn't have changed the result, but it would have helped.

4. This is mindless
The reason the 'missed medicare vote' and other 'missed' votes is a canard is that Daschle has promised each of them that he will summon them if their vote will be determinate. He called them back earlier for a right to choose vote that was non-binding. No one in congress, outside of the ridiculous campaign here, has said that these men shirked their duty. Daschle can count votes before bills come up. Try to understand that these votes are manipulated by the republican majority who have enough votes to do that.

BTW, Kerry was there to vote against cloture on the Medicare bill. After the cloture vote passed the bill was going to pass no matter what. The overwhelming vote to move to vote was indicative of the passage margin which was overwhelming. There was nothing that Kerry could do at that point. Even I walked away at that point after following the vote and debate for days. What a canard to pretend that Kerry shirked on that one, just to drag him through something. He voted on that bill when it counted, at cloture. Cloture passed. Get off of his back. I want a president, not a vote padder.
