<NEW YORK -- Leaders of 85 percent of the nation's mosques have extremist views, and some have made irresponsible statements about the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, said Rep. Peter King, a Long Island Republican.>

<"I don't see any need to be politically correct here _ the stakes are too high," King said in an interview broadcast Sunday on WNBC-TV's "News Forum.">

<The 85 percent figure was drawn from research done for his recently published novel, "Vale of Tears," about the World Trade Center attacks, King said.>

<King denied that charge. He said leaders of the mosque in Westbury, N.Y. had tried to pass blame for the attacks on a Zionist conspiracy and had not cooperated with law enforcement officers investigating potential terrorist activities.>

1. I don't trust middle aged men...
...who sport duck's ass haircuts, myself.

Does anybody remember that classic Crossfire episode from a few years ago when King spoke first, yammered on for about 90 seconds and said "Frank Woolf, one of the most respected members of the House of Representatives", or slight variations on that phrase, about 7 or 8 times?

Barney Frank let him finish, looked at him and said "Well, I guess we know what the talking point for today is..."

It was truly hilarious.

2. He's my rep.
And no one is running against him. He can be taken down if it's done right.

6. I'm sure according to him 100% of DUers are "extremists"
and have "extremist" views.

What a paranoid asshole.

He's just perpetuating that which he fears.
