3. They made an anti Kerry "ad" re: "Priceless" MC ads
Edited on Mon Mar-08-04 04:02 PM by SoCalDem
It's very snarky and nasty.. CNN has played it about 5 times today and of course the "hosts" just giggle like 6th grade girls.. They just LOVE it..

MSRNC too..

So I decided that they should not get more free air time..

I told the guy that they should at least have to pay in fines what the air time would have cost them..

go to www.citizensunited.org.. It's the top right "ad".

4. And cons are pissing and moaning about Moveon.org?
Sheesh, talk about lame.

All the moveon.org people should have to do is play that pathetic add and it is case closed.

I will not be calling though, as these types of adds are very important to our side as well.

We can hardly fight for Moveon and rail against this garbage.

8. The move on ads are original
These are a blatant copyright infringement of mastercard..

The moveon ads are true too :)

I doubt seriously that there will be any blocking of moveon before the election.. Those things take time, and they would file a lawsuit if the repubes tried.. That would really drag it out..

Moveon PAYS for their ads.. These freaks are getting them FREE..

12. the commercials are ugly as hell, but couldn't you make a parody case?
Fair use, after all.

If anything, its such a STALE fucking parody. Unfunny years ago, pretty damn unfunny today.

16. In Yahoo's news blurbs, they called the ad a parody.
I was not happy to see it referred to that way because the word "parody" makes it sound like harmless fun. Parody also has more protection of law. Sorry I don't have a link: I saw the article this morning, cited on the home page, and when I went to the yahoo site now, I couldn't find it.

7. I scribbled this down a few weeks ago Re: Halliburton
2 eggs, scrambled ..... 15 dollars
A slice of white toast ..... 8 dollars
An 8 oz. juice box with straw ..... 24 dollars

War profiteering by the Vice President's former company?

PRICELESS

There are some things our tax dollars can't buy, unless a 90% cut goes to

Halliburton

10. Mastercard didn't make the ad. Citizens United just stole the idea.

They apparently figured that they could get away with it, because MC was unsuccessful in their attempt to stop Nader from running a similar one in 2000.

11. Does MC have the exclusive rights to the word "priceless"?
Something tells me they don't.

Bringing it to their attention can't hurt. I just doubt anything can be done.

13. No, they tried to stop Nader from running a similar ad in 2000 and failed.

They had nothing to do with the current ad, either.

14. Hey Bush is a man of the people
yeah...ridiculously rich people. So what if Kerry is rich? He's had a long history of helping the poor and Bush has a long history of screwing the poor.

15. That ad is so utterly full of it.
And they're being incredibly stupid to think that MoveOn or another group can't do the exact same thing about Bush*. With potentially more damaging info.
