Almost Certainly:
France

Spain

Probably:

Possibly:
Japan (PM supporting Iraq invasion against popular sentiment a la Blair)

Just getting the ball rolling...

2. The short list would be the ones who don't.
However, the Indians and Chinese seem to be doing well under *.

4. Not Japan
I live in Korea and have many friends in Japan. Koizumi is very good friends with Bush. He likes and respects him. Koizumi hopes Bush gets re-elected.

5. Well. That is too bad. Do you have a good sense of
how your Japanese friends regard Bush, and their PM?

19. Most like Bush, but...
think the US ca do better. But, that's understandable. Since I've moved to Korea, the Won has gotten stronger against the dollar and the Yen has gotten incredibly strong. If I had a job that paid in Yen and Bush wasn't my president...I might think he's o.k. too.

14. Just because leaders are in bed with Bush
that doesn't necessarily mean the people like him. We saw that with Spain. Just thought I'd throw that in there...

25. As someone who actually lives in Japan
I can say that I've never met a Japanese who actually likes bu$h. My son tells me that none of his teachers like bu$h, either. There have also been several programs on TV recently about the WMD lies, Halliburton profiteering off the war, etc., so I don't think they have helped bu$h's popularity here.

27. My wife is from China
And I can assure you that the Chinese in mainland China don't like him at all. They think we're stupid for electing such an unqualified and unintelligent person to such an important position. She asks me how so many people voted for him and I can't really explain it.

Fox, whom I respect though sometimes disagree with, thought that Bush and he could usher in an new era of Mexican-American relations. What a joke that turned out to be.

I know many Indians. Not a single one likes Bush. Most hate him.

You are forgetting the Bush is in bed with Pakistan angle.

24. I'm married to a Punjabi. He despises Bush, but his family,
nearly all his Indian friends save one, think Bush walks on water.

India definitely favors a Bush re-election to keep Pakistan in check and for their economic strength.

MY husband and said friend believe **** is as corrupt and wretched as I do.

13. There was a poll by the BBC out today
Edited on Wed Mar-17-04 12:46 AM by Woodstock
saying "a majority" think things are better, but I question the results.

I just read a story where women are afraid to leave their homes in Iraq for fear of their safety. They say the US is not providing adequate security. And the fundamentalism is as bad as Sadaam's corrupt regime. I'd imagine they didn't participate in the poll.

Also, many people in areas in areas without utilities or where there is violence or lawlessness would likely not have been polled.

This is a large and obvious flaw to the poll, but I doubt that stops the spinmeisters.

22. I'd say the list probably mirrors the ARRL DXCC list...
The American Radio Relay League maintains a list of "Countries" that Radio Hams can talk to. Prove that you'e talked to 100 countries, get a certificate.

I think there's something like 300-plus names on the list.....

Diddy-dah-dah-didit.

23. Here's what Richard Holbrooke says:
From the NY Times -- Leaders in ALL regions OVERWHELMINGLY want a change in leadership! And he should know!

"It's so obviously the truth what Kerry said, and the Republicans are just having fun with it — everybody knows it's true," Mr. Holbrooke said, adding that he called after speaking to Ms. Cutter. "In the last six or seven months, I've been in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Europe. I've met with leaders in all of those regions, and they have overwhelmingly — not unanimously but overwhelmingly — said that they hope that there's a change in leadership."

29. I think it's difficult to generalize
I live in New York City, and most people here do not support Bush. But just because that is true, I would not generalize to say that most Americans do not support him. I imagine the same is true in other countries, that there are regional and socioeconomic differences in political opinion.
