Bush team has new commercial attacking Kerry....
Just heard on MSNBC. If they can get Kerry to respond specifically, they will think it successful, because they have put him in a defensive position, a position of responding. Has anyone seen the ad yet? We'll see how Kerry reacts to this or if he goes on an attack of his own. Which would be preferable as a political strategy?

1. Political rule-of-thumb
Answer attacks immediately.

Why? Because if they are left unanswered, they become "truth". The best tactic is a punch/counterpunch approach. Briefly and succinctly answer the attack and hammer away with one of your own.

9. Gnats...
Answer attacks immediately.

Are the Republicans answering anything immediately?

They're like gnats buzzing around and being annoying, but they're really small. Maybe John Kerry needs to carry around a can of RAID.

3. Instant channel changer
As soon as I see or hear a Bush Ad on TV or Radio I change the channel immediately.

BTW - If Bush is attacking Kerry on "lack of funding for protective vests in Iraq" who sent these soldiers to Iraq IN THE FIRST PLACE improperly equipped?

6. Chris sees the vote and allows the lie - with no analysis - because he
is a NBC GOP controlled media whore - and also because he justifies lies by saying it is not Chris that is lying - he is just reporting what he/Rove feel will be the impact of the latest Rove lie.

10. Why does Chris not mention that McCain says Bush can not be trusted?
BILL MOYERS: If you can't trust them (The Bush Administration), why can we?

SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN: I don't...I can't answer that, except to say that in 20 years around this town I've never had my word...I've never had people break their word to me in this fashion.

I know it's borderline criminal for some around here to put in a positive word about McCain, but he has a lot of respect from people on both sides of the political spectrum around the country. And when he says "I can't answer that....in 20 years around this town I've never had people break their word to me in this fashion" that will strike home to some people.

It's all about the credibility gap.
