Is America sentenced to be the bete noire of the world?

As long as America is the most powerful country on Earth, is America sentenced to be the bete noire of the world? Let's face the sad truth: getting rid of Bush will not solve most of America's problems abroad. Both parties support imperialism. Both parties have the same policy in the Middle East that is the #1 reason Muslims hate America. The only difference is in style, not substance.
