Soldiers are TOLD to cheer Bush and wave flags at Fort Campbell
I just saw a report on CBC from Neil MacDonald their Washington corespondent.....He showed video clips of Bush at Fort Campbell thanking troops....The difference in what I saw there and what was shown on CNN was rather striking.....What CNN didn't show was that before Bush came out an officer stood at the microphone and loudly instructed them to cheer Bush loudly and wave their American flags.....When I saw this on CNN the comment from CNN was "today President Bush was enthusiastically greeted by the troops at Fort Campbell....One would think it would be unnecessary to admonish soldiers to cheer their president???......This says to me Bush is not as popular with the military as they proclaim!

1. I didn't think the soldiers that stood behind him looked that happy.
I wish I could get CBC.

4. Giving 'honored guest' fake greetings is SOP in the Army.
As with anything else that involves entertainment, "ladies and gentleman please give a warm round of applause..." Ain't nothing new about tit.

5. When I was in the Army
and we had to line up and look pretty when somebody important came around, we thought it was a pretty big pain in the ass. I can imagine how I would feel if I was in there now and this joker of a president came down, who perhaps had just gotten one or many of my friends killed, to parade around in front of us and make himself look good on t.v. He should be ashamed, but then he has no shame. Bloody-handed bastard.

not the last time.

the soldiers that were USED in the Baghdad Turkey Trot were pre-interviewed before being allowed within sight of the insipid chimp.

he cares no more about these people than he does a fresh change of sox. in fact, he cares MUCH more about fresh sox than dead soldiers...

and that's the facts
