Where is all the outrage over this?...
It turns out that a writer named Jack Kelley has been fabricating stories for USA Today... there was tons of hoopla and outrage over what happened with Jason Blair (I can't remember how to spell his name...) ... what's different about this situation?

Peace,

1. is he white?
Not to be cynical or anything but maybe that's the difference? I haven't heard about the case and would appreciate more information.

4. I've been wondering about it...
... Blair was not the first writer of a prestigious newspaper to fabricate stories, but the press acted like it...

2. He's white, and "Christian."
American Politics Journal has links to his disgrace.

6. You might go over to the USA Today web site...
... or other well known newspaper... and do a general search for 'Jack Kelley' and see what pops up...

7. cause Jayson Blair worked for the NY Times
Which is reputable.

And the other guy worked for USA Today, which is a joke of a paper - even though it has a larger circulation than the Times.

9. you got it
News people who were envious of the NY Times were exuberant that they got the chance to rag on it for one bad reporter.

10. A couple of things.....
First off, it's McPaper not the Paper of Record.

2nd, this is just another revelation of journalists stealing or making up their material. See all those who have been fired recently for things as silly as lifting movie reviews etc.

3rd, this is kind of new so it may need a little time to get media traction in what is a news heavy environment. This weekend you had peace protests, Hamas's head guy getting killed and Clarke's big story.

11. The Kelley story got front-page coverage in both the NYT and W Post.
No, it's a big story. I haven't read any op-ed pieces yet on it, but it's not going away and the major national newspapers are covering it. This has been coming out gradually, from what I gather.
