the rnc wants ME to fill out their 'census' form

that's right, ed gillespie, rnc chairman, sent me a 'republican party census document' along with a request for money to defeat the democrats. they have such a great need for money because democrats can count on so much money from 'some unions and every liberal interest group'.

and it came with a self-addressed envelop with postage paid by addressee. my favorite!

check out some of the 'questions':

- do you support president bush's initiatives to promote the safety and security of all americans? (kinda vague, hmm, shall i come out against safety and security? how about telling us that you mean random searches, seizures and indefinite imprisonment without trials?)

- do you support the use of air strikes against any country that offers safe harbor or aid to individuals or organizations committed to further attacks on america? (oh, all we're doing in afghanistan and iraq is AIRSTRIKES?

- do you continue to support increasing the amount of security at airports, train stations, and all government buildings including monuments and museums? (continue? as if you've done such a good job already? wait, museums? MUSEUMS need armed guards in camouflage with semiautomatic rifles now?)

- should the inheritence of "death tax" be permanently repealed? (yawn)

- do you support president bush's pro-growth policies to create more jobs and improve the economy? (bah ha ha ha ha !!! WHAT pro-growth policies?!? oh, wait, no, i'm ANTI-growth. this is the most idiotic question ever)

- should small businesses be encouraged to grow and hire more workers? (oops, spoke too soon! THIS is the most idiotic question ever! no, small businesses should be required to fire more people!?!? ugh!)

- do you support president bush's plan to make our schools more accountable to parents and to restore local control of education? (do you support shrub's plan to make good education unaffordable and/or replaced with fundamentalist christian indoctrination?)

- should students, teachers, principals and administators be held to higher standards? (no, i'm in favor of low standards all around. sheesh.)

- do you agree that teaching our children to read and increasing literacy rates should be a national priority? (no, i'm in favor of illiteracy. wtf????)


you get the idea. these are some of the stupidest questions ever. well, i'm sure they won't really be using the results anyway, it's probably just another ruse to convince people to send in money....
