The more I see Bush going down in the polls, the more scared I get...
Edited on Fri Apr-09-04 12:01 AM by The Night Owl
Is anyone else frightened by what the Bush junta might do if they see no chance to legally win the 2004 presidential election?

The closer we get to unseating this current administration, the closer we get to Bush's Plan B, whatever that is.

:scared:

5. I think it all boils down to:
Edited on Fri Apr-09-04 12:05 AM by progrocker69
Do we want to WIN this thing or not? And I mean REALLY win it.

I honestly believe that there are enough pissed off people out there - or even just people with nagging doubts who still publicly "support" * - that if there were to be a Plan B this close to election time the outrage would be swift and just plain huge. As in, like nothing we've ever experienced before in this country.

Yeah, it is scary to contemplate what might happen in this regard, but no matter what that might be I submit that it will STILL be preferable to the alternative. As for myself, I've made a firm decision to time my other week of vacation time this year to coincide with the elections so that if things spin out of control I'll at least have time to myself to take whatever actions I can to assure the safety of my wife, our three cats and myself.

Edited for a glaring grammatical error in last sentence. Jesus Christ my friggin' brain is melting. :silly:

6. He can't win
will he try to steal another election?
Everything they've done lately seems so desperate.
I don't think they will have the support of the conservatives.
Even O'Really is questioning their motives lately.

8. the pnac crowd will chuck him under the bus if they think he's a loser
They only want to advance their own agenda, and I'm sure they believe they can do it through Kerry if not through dumbya. (kerry will stay in iraq, and will kowtow to israel I'm sure, though he will be a damn sight better on most everything else than that moron and his crooked cronies.)

9. I am scared to death that we won't win in November.....
and also scared about what is going to happen to us, if these vicious animals disguised as White House residents, realize they are going to be defeated....I know they can do a lot of bad stuff....I am not positive that they were not in someway implicated in the terror we suffered on Sept. 11, 2001.......We surely won't see a civilized turnover of power....

10. I know it's not easy
but try to somehow retain a shred of optimism through all of this. The stress of worrying about what's going to happen seven months from now is only sapping our collective strength. It's no better than a lot of the infighting that's been going on around here with the primaries and stuff, IMHO.

11. they're on a mission from God . . .
so there's no way they CAN lose in November . . . if they did, they couldn't fulfill their calling . . .

while I believe that Kerry will handily receive far more votes than Bush, I do not believe that the reported results will match the votes cast in many states . . . I mean, since there's no way to get caught, why not? . . . it's the easiest way for the evil empire to insure their continuation in power, and that's exactly what they'll do . . .

given that it's now April, and given that only a handful of senators are sponsoring BBV legislation, and given that no one in Congress is out there yelling and screaming about the issue, I believe that there is no chance in hell that auditable paper trails will be required for this year's election . . . and, imo, that means game, set and match to BushCo, no matter how many votes Kerry gets . . .

because it ain't who votes that counts . . . it's who counts the votes . . .

12. Whoops! A terrorist attack has caused us to have to "suspend" the
elections. Never mind that we didn't suspend them even in the depths of the civil war, etc.

Hannity has already floated this idea.

13. Keep Ralph at Bay and Everything Will be OK
If Nader doesn't take a large chunk of Kerry's votes I think it's a solid victory for Kerry. Something tells me all those Jews-for-Buchanan in 2000 will cast a different ballot this time, and our mighty state of Florida has picked up an additional 2 electoral votes since 2000. We're as critical as ever baby and should be all Kerry's.

14. You better believe I'm scared
I wish the election was today instead of 7 months away. Just gives * more time to plan. Then there's always the fear of the "October surprise", Diebold voting machines, the "capture" of Osama, another few "good" jobs reports. etc. etc. I'm confident in a fair election we can win but on the other hand I'm concerned that with all the stuff that's already come out about * not to mention all the investigations hanging over this administartion's head that for some reason *'s approval remains in the upper 40's all the time. How can that be? I'm nervous about November now so by the time it gets here I'll probably be a basket case.
