Fellow Seattle DUers. How can we get an Air America affiliate here?
Does anybody have an answer to this? I know Portland has one KPOJ and so where is Seattle's? We have two right-wing radio stations KKKVI and KTTH "The Truth". Where on Earth is OUR liberal radio station???? Maybe if there was a liberal radio station here we could hire Mike Malloy. Portland's AA affiliate has a good local talk show named Ed Schultz. I heard his show via the internet and he is funny! Why not people? We all cannot be by a computer all of the time. Let's get a liberal radio station here!

P.S. I am not taking anything away from Mike Webb however. He is the main reason I listen to KIRO.

2. john, please let me know how i can help
Seriously, I have some time to put into this, but I am a middle aged housewife, not an activist, so I don't even know where to start. What does one do to get a radio station out here? I am in the Seattle/Tacoma area and am listening to Dave Ross right now.

A lot of money. Something I certainly wished I could have. We have many millionaires in this part of the world. Where are they? I wished some wealthy Democrats would get off their duffs and buy a station and get Air America on.

I am listening to Dave Ross too. It sounds like he has become more against the Iraq occupation since arriving in Baghdad.

4. I'm curious too
KIRO-710 won't go because they use the "all local" talk show format which I think is pretty important to have.

Perhaps there is another "oldies" station AA can buy.

Until then, I'll be streaming...

6. I wouldn't even know where to start
We really need it. So far, the only liberal radio in town that I know of is on Saturday morning on KEXP.

8. I'm never up that late
Maybe that's why I haven't heard it. I'm very much an early bird.

Makes you wonder why all of the liberal talk radio is relegated to times when no one is listening. :grr:

9. Well..
I know the Buzz is constantly looking for a show to put on after Leykis..I think maybe if they could run a schedule like this:
Robin&Maynard
BJ Shea
Tom Leykis
then get archive of O'Franken and/or Garofalo's show...

10. Hey Seattle-ites..
My 26 yr old son lives in Kent, and is looking to hook up with some kindred spirits.. He's never been political until now, and last night he said he HATES Bush with a passion and wants to get involved.. He has no computer right now, but if you are having any kind of get together any time soon, PM me, and I'll get the details.. He's recently broken up with his GF and kind of wants something to do :)

It's just him and his dog & cat, and he doesn't have many friends..

He heckled Ridge when he was there last week.. :)
