Shock and Awe: Notice how the media doesn't really know what to do
about the Woodward book. they don't quite know how to spin it. I am sure it is sinking in to a few dense heads how close we are to living in a fascist state but no one wants to admit to it because they have helped it along.

1. I like Woodward's angle
There's close to zero opinion involved, which may be the best way to reach swing voters.

2. Some of them may be so "shocked"...
Edited on Mon Apr-19-04 10:38 AM by GainesT1958
That Woodward actually wrote something...anything...CRITICAL of Dub & Co. that they can't think of what to say...in no small part because they wouldn't think of saying anything critical of Dub themselves, of course!:eyes:

B-)

3. So far they have spun it for the White House
Most headlines proclaim the White House is denying the charges, rather then the charges making the headlines.

all stations are talking about the Kerry MTP interview.......Iraq .Spain pulling out....but its like total stun gun effect about Woodward........Think maybe the WH got hold of the stations and told them to kill this story before it festers and hurts bush.....

5. Waiting

They're probably waiting for Rove's memo on how best to deal with this. I think some in the administration were a bit blind-sided by all this and unaware of how Woodward would put things together. Getting caught off guard in a way, Rove hadn't developed the proper strategy yet.

Give it time. The spin will come, and it'll be a doozy. I more than half expect Powell to be accused rather directly of some major offense that'll put into question his point of view as it appears to be presented and may make him a scapegoat for much of it.

As it is currently, the administration is in a state of giving what Woodward's old boss at the Post used to refer to as a non-denial denial. They haven't called Woodward a flat-out liar yet, IOW.

7. Remember that CBS has heard the taped interviews.
Those voices are easily recognizable.

So far, the WH is only disputing little crap, like "planning" v "deciding."

This is far from over.

9. So far Condi Rice is out there
sputtering all her little defensive statements.

So Woodward is the latest to write about the truth of the madness in the Administration. I can hear Karen Hughes now: "They are all liars. Blah, blah, blah."

8. I'm no tinfoil hat club member but,
What are the chances of one guy writing a book that brings down 2 different Repub presidents?

For you tinfoil hat club members, is Woodward the press secretary for the NWO?

10. I love how everyone gets pissed when you say
Fascist. But the truth is, is that this administration fits the definitions of fascism to a "T".
