Hussein's Agents Are Behind Attacks in Iraq, Pentagon Finds

ASHINGTON, April 28 — A Pentagon intelligence report has concluded that many bombings against Americans and their allies in Iraq, and the more sophisticated of the guerrilla attacks in Falluja, are organized and often carried out by members of Saddam Hussein's secret service, who planned for the insurgency even before the fall of Baghdad.

The report states that Iraqi officers of the "Special Operations and Antiterrorism Branch," known within Mr. Hussein's government as M-14, are responsible for planning roadway improvised explosive devices and some of the larger car bombs that have killed Iraqis, Americans and other foreigners. The attacks have sown chaos and fear across Iraq.

The seven-page "Special Analysis" was written under Defense Intelligence Agency guidance by the Joint Intelligence Task Force, which includes officers and analysts from across the civilian and military espionage community. It is not known whether it represents a fully formed consensus or whether there might be dissenting assessments.

that these were all "foreign" insurgents, at least that's the official Bush stance. 6. The THREE main purposes of this article IMHO (repost from LBN)

1.The timing can't be missed. They just happened to release this the day of the 9/11 going to the Oval Office (very intimidating setting BTW).

2.This will be used to slowly tie Saddam to alQaeda. Even if it is his old ARMY ( ) the talking heads and spinmeisters will draw out the conclusion that they WERE in cahoots all along. "Well we know that alQaeda has been doing some of the attacks and now we have this report............"



3.This feeds into the ISG's inability to find WMD. This article states that this M-14 has been terrorizing the natives which has been one of the main excuses so far for not finding what they were sure was there. Now when they do *POOF* find the WMD it is because they discovered this operation and took it out (in a VERY manly way).

9. It's odd when the anti-government types realize that they need a govt.

The main mistake (the first of many) that was made was disbanding the Iraqi Army, I haven't seen anyone who says otherwise. They threw the baby out with the bathwater.

Now they realize that they can't get control of the "policemen" so they are bringing back in the personnel infrastructure to do it.
