The pledge is a lie, for a nation burdened by preferential tax laws, gun-control laws and Social Security can hardly claim to have “liberty and justice for all.”
With the addition of “under God,” meaning presumably the God of Abraham, the pledge displays even more dishonesty. In ratifying the Bill of Rights, the United States slammed the door shut on the persecution of witches, clearly defying God's commandment to Moses “Thou shalt not permit a witch to live.”
The U.S. outlawed the importation of slaves early in the 1800s, banished slavery in 1865, and with those accomplishments thumbed its nose at the God whose shocking pro-slavery notions were revealed to Moses.
The nation that says “no” to the persecution of witches and to the trade in slaves cannot be regarded as being “under” the wretched deity worshipped by Abraham.SNIP
