Powell wasn't told of $25 billion Iraq request
Tell me again, why do we have a Sec. of State again?

Shortly before Bush administration officials presented Republican congressional leaders with a request for $25 billion in Iraq (news - web sites) funding this week, Secretary of State Colin Powell (news - web sites) was telling members of the Congressional Black Caucus (news - web sites) that no such request would be forthcoming.

1. Powell
I have a feeling that when this guy leaves the Administration he is going to write a damming book. Unlike the relatively unknown Richard Clark or Paul O'Neil, Powell is considered a national hero, and he will be much harder for Karl Rove's stormtroopers to demonize.

2. Maybe Powell should have disguised himself
as Prince Bandar. Then he would have been the first to know.
