I just had a worst case scenario dream... President Cheney...
OK.. follow this logic. It's been obvious for so long a time that Dickie is pulling Shrubya's strings... he's got the power and Shrubya takes the heat...

OK, worst case scenario...

1) they can't rig the election this time because the votes are going to be too overwhelming, plus enough people are raising enough hell that the 'black boxes' won't get used.

2) the bodies keep stacking up, the attacks get worse, the 'leaks' get bigger.

3) Tony Blair is either ousted or turns on Shrubya to keep his job and threatens to take the rest of Europe FIRMLY with him.

4) The polls can't be spun any more... Shrubya is going down in flames...

5) enough 'pugs in the House/Senate decide that they're not going down with a sinking ship and start to talk IMPEACHMENT.

What to do.. what to do... another 'terrorist act' won't be good, because it would say that the current administration isn't doing their jobs (they aren't). Same for starting stuff elsewhere (Korea, Iran)... what to do.. what to do??

a) "for the good of the country", Shrubya follows the Nixon Protocols and resigns. Two words to strike fear in your heart PRESIDENT CHENEY. This energizes the 'pug voters that 'he did the right thing and they HAVE TO KEEP THE TEAM GOING FOR THE GOOD OF THE COUNTRY.

b) Shrubya 'takes ill' and says that he won't saddle the country with a sick president (like we don't have that now) and steps aside for (here it comes again) PRESIDENT CHENEY. Same results as a)

c) Cheney plays puppet master, decides which 'pugs will be the sacrificial goats and the IMPEACHMENT goes forward. The OUTRAGES the 'pug voters and THEY HAVE TO PROVE THAT THEY RUN THE COUNTRY.

d) Bush is unable to finish his term for 'unspecified tragic reasons'. Sympathy vote energizes the 'pugs.

(runs screaming in terror...)

8. true, but it could be a ruse
from what thier SAYING, he should be incapable of making public appearances, 24-7 bed ridden (from what i can pick up from whats been said, he should be hooked up to a life support machine) i think it might be a smokescreen for something like getting (ahem) Genital enhancement or something

4. True....
...from what I know he is extremely unpopular. While Bush's approval ratings are falling, Cheey's are quite lower. Cheney would not be able to go toe to toe with Kerry without a puppet like BUsh. He would become President and then Kerry would beat him big time in the election. At least that is my hope.

2. Don't ask me to explain this rationally, since it does not make
any sense whatsoever.

I have had the gut feeling over the last year or so that Bush is not going to end his term... and neither is Chenney.

Again don't ask me to explain this rationally, because I can't

10. His heart is no good -- I think health issues would put people off
That is, health issues regarding his physical heart would put people off who aren't already nauseated by the spectacle of a man completely without a metaphysical heart.

The very first time I saw his picture in the 2000 campaign I knew this was one ice-cold corporate shark. Have you ever compared the photos of Cheney in his early political career with photos of him now? When he was young he was actually a good-looking man, but now with that sneer of his Cheney just looks scarey. Unlike Dorian Gray, there's no portrait in the attic to absorb the ugliness of whatever he's done all these years.

No, I can't see Dubya leaving office voluntarily.
