Reuters: Red Cross Was Told Iraq Abuse 'Part of the Process'
LONDON (Reuters) - The Red Cross saw U.S. troops keeping Iraqi prisoners naked for days in darkness at the Abu Ghraib jail in October, and was told by the intelligence officer in charge it was "part of the process," a leaked report said on Monday.

1. Now I see why the repug callers in C-Span this morning wanted to cut
the US funding to the Red Cross. The fundies will stop at nothing in their denial of reality and the desire to cover up war crimes.

2. As a American Red Cross Chairman, we get nothing from Uncle Sam!
It is all donation, no government support from any government. Not the USA, England or any place else, all from good people who care.

4. Thanks, thanks, thanks for clarification. I am feeling like
I am living in an unreal world... no sense of decency, or reality on the part of people controlling the government and their supporters.

I can see why the Red Cross would not want support from governments. Otherwise, they would be subject to influence based on threats to withhold support.

5. One god thing is we are not allowed to let political people politic at RC
events. I did how ever plea to both parties to show support for our kids at a Disaster Awareness Lock- In I held this weekend. Both parties never replyed to any of my e-mails , calls, or letters. I did however get to meet a very cool FBI agent who worked the Oklahoma bombing, Pan Am crash, and was a lead investigator at ground zero 9/11. He brought a Red Cross hat baseball cap that was given to him at ground zero to show the kids his support for the Red Cross. We have to teach these kids to be ready, and I am one of the few who seems to get that, how freaking sad is that!
