There are many ways to leave. And many are discussing various ways (see Salon.com today).

This is so like 'Nam. Leave now in defeat and save lives or leave later in defeat and kill 100's (1000's?) more!

This will have to be taken to the streets

1. It never worked before,
why would it now. The first big protest was 1967. The war ended in 1975 for other reasons. The real reasons were drugs, racism and mutiny. Marching might feel good but has almost no affect on policy.

Power does. When you have it you can create your own morality and policies.

2. Yeah, and what about those worthless "civil rights" protests?
What a waste of time!

Good luck with that morality-creation stuff.

3. I disagree
Marching has several positive effects.

1. It mobilizes individuals. I gives them a personal stake in politics. Now that can turn to frustration in some, and probably will. It's unlikely that we will get the troops out of Iraq before 2005, and possibly not till 2006 or after. But people who take part in marches are more likely to be informed on the issues and far less likely to vote for President Goofus.

2. It is a mark of solidarity with the rest of the world. We, as Americans, are being defined by our presidency. This is our way, as citizens, to let the rest of the world that we disagree with our current policies in Iraq.

There are other possible positive benefits as well.
